Will give that a try Ben.
I have informed Ross tech that it looks like version 24.7 has a problem.

Hi Ben.
There is a known problem. And it is the exact problem I am experiencing.
Ross tech are advising me to download the beta version 24.8 and to make 1 or 2 setting adjustments in beta.

Have asked them for an idiots guide as I am not that good with computers.
Will report back when I get a response.

I have downloaded beta 24.8 version.

Just the other config bits to sort out.

Ross tech have asked for an update to see if it resolves the immediate problem.

I guess I am just lucky Stuart.
Shoppinit had a similar problem
It’s been a real pain.
I had no problems until I updated to 24.7
And it’s a new genuine unlimited vins Ross tech cable.

Ross tech informed me they rectified a similar software fault on the beta version. That was rectified a week ago.
Hence why they have advised me to use beta.

Pleased your car is running ok.
When everything is working well, There is no
doubt about it. These cars are epic.

At what point precisely is it giving that error message?

Did it revert to "Auto-detect (CAN only)" in the drop down after the scan?

Why don't you ask Rosstech for an older version. I'm using 21.9.0 and it appears to be fine (albeit you have to manually select the chassis).

For a long time I used Release 15.7.3 because I am always averse to updating unless I absolutely have to. Don't know if that version works on Win10 though.

There is nothing in the later versions (>15) that is useful for the RS6, but I needed to update it for more modern cars.

Tick "Bypass CAN init" to see what happens.

Will give that a try in the morning. Had dfs here over a crap suite they sold us. Taking it to ombudsman. Loads of forms to fill out and info to gather.
Then taking mrs shopping. Run out of time today.
Have emailed Ross tech to see if I can download an older version.
Waiting to hear.
