You sure of your logic there? If it was the wiring it would always stay on bank 2.

Your description sounds more like a small leak on bank 2 somewhere.

Thanks for all your input guys. Car is booked in on 11th December at independent specialist to hopefully resolve these issues. I’ll keep you posted….
Any news?

Ya. Should have elaborated, when I extended the maf plugs and was able to plug into the opposite bank, the high flow readings went from 2 to 1.

The independent specialist ran diagnostics and basically no output from any lambda sensor....so they suggested I take the car to a Revo dealer who can put car back to a standard map so this is where we are at the minute.
The garage is too busy this week so hopefully have another update next week which I am not looking forward to ie will then show up all the outstanding fault codes but at least I'll be able to see them now:thumbsdown: My money is on the pre-cat lambda sensors which I believe is a massive job to change, we will see!

If you are slick with computers and electronics, there’s a post somewhere on here with how to flash your ecu and a couple of stock files too

Cheers mate that could be an option. I think I really need to think about investing in VCDS! Lost around £150 so far at the “specialist” £45 for MOT and £96 for diagnostics…

Not very special if he can’t flash a standard map onto the car he’s supposed to specialise in.

Owning an rs6 without a Vagcom is like going scuba diving without a tank.

You’ll need a Galletto cable or similar if you want to flash the ECU.

Could be the previous “Tuna” might have locked out the ecu for OBDC flashing. Probably not, but if he has then it’ll need to be bench flashed IIRC.

Who did the previous work on replacing things? I'd think if it's basically the same then whatever they did wasn't the root cause or they didn't do all of it and did just enough to squeak it through the last MOT which is why the car was then sold...

Most people take their cars to Unit 20 or MRC. I'd think you need someone that knows everything to have the compulsory wallet emptying experience that all owners have to suffer :)

I definitely saw that mine was locked to prevent downloading - so I had to put the ECU into boot mode on the bench to back it up before fiddling.

Yes. Either DIY it if you are sufficiently mechanically minded, or take it to one of the few very good specialists. It'll cost less in the long run, IMVHO.

The garage that failed the MOT are well known with VAG cars however I think seeing as my RS6 has obviously been tinkered with they don't want to know. Plus the MOT tester was very by the book.
Last MOT looks like they tried to rectify issues but gave up in the end and obviously played around with ECU to get through MOT. I've been in touch with previous owner but yeah he's just said he spent a fair bit of money to get through MOT....over £4k(I have receipt) so not sure what's going on?!

So what's all needed for Vagcom? Will it work on a MacBook or only windows? I'm keen to be the new "Tuna"

Vagom isnt Mac compatible , you will need to use something like boot camp/parallels to run it in a windows environment , you will need to make sure that USB passthrough is enabled and configured so you can connect to the USB interface of the OBD cable through to the windows VM, I think it depends whether u have an intel mac or a newer style mac on whether you use Boot Camp or parallels.

Did you get anywhere with this?
My ecu is away for repair for my high maf reading, which hopefully is the reason why I have higher CO on bank 2.
