Ok I have made good progress but I am now stuck and can’t figure out how to separate the intake from the maf bracket. There are studs in the intake so I can’t slide it away, it has to left directly up.

I believe this can be done in situ but I ended up just pulling the motor :bash:

I think as long as the 2 crankcase breathers that go in to the top next to the maf seats are out you can lever the intake off of the maf housing.

It’s off, two metal pipe either side next to maf off and a water hose underneath needed to come off and the inlet lifted.

I’m happy to confirm that it is the servo pump/valve and it has split apart like a lot of other’s have.

I am also going to replace the 12v water pump because mine looks like it has leaked and I really don’t want to be doing this job again.

When you say servo pump/valve.
Do you mean the brake booster valve.

Sometimes it comes apart when you remove the intake but it probably needed to be replaced anyway.

Car has had some TLC the last couple weeks, service, new air pressure sensor and aircon re charge, 2 rear wheel bearings and new tyres going on this week.

Some time ago I replaced the headunit with a pioneer one, the original Bose speakers have always been really bad so I suspected they had blown so I replaced them with a set of new Hertz components. But they sound really flat and quite underwhelming, I am also getting an alternator wine through the speakers and this has been ever since I fitted the headunit. I thought it might be a bad earth but having a play around at the back of the unit with wires and trying to earth it direct has made no difference. Would it be something to do with the Bose amplifier system not liking the headunit?

FWIW when I did my radio conversion I used the wiring adapter harness and signal box from enfig. https://shop.enfigcarstereo.com/

I've a Sony so not sure if they have a plug and play for your pioneer but the key componentry is modular so can be adapted.

After all was said and done the new radio with the enfig gubbins made the speakers sound even better than it did with the original stereo.

They have a c5 allroad install video that explains the harness, specifically the tuning of the output signals to the Bose amp.

I have fitted a ground loop isolator to the headunit to see if that gets rid of the engine noise. I have also learnt that the original Bose system is 2ohm and I have fitted 4ohm speakers which might explain why they sound bad. I think the dated Bose system of going to have to go and be replaced with something up to date.

The passed two weeks the car has had a service, two new rear wheel bearings, aircon fixed, new tyres and a new battery. And the passed week I have had a PRNDS error several times on start up. Scanned it and it appears to be pressure control valve short to plus which I have seen other have the same issue with no fix.
Once I restart the car it goes away, is this something that is likely to happen whilst driving along? I plan on driving the car to Goodwood festival of speed tomorrow and it’s a 2 hour drive.

Mines been doing the PRNDS thing for ages with the same fault code. It's very random and sometimes takes several restarts to clear, then it wont do it for weeks. I'm going to try a new wiring loom in the box when I get a chance.

Just got home done 230 miles and the car was faultless! Half the time I think it just doesn’t like being sat around doing nothing. Probably did it good to have a proper run. Didn’t see any c5 rs6’s on the journey or in the Goodwood car park.

Glad you had kinda solved the ‘PRNDS’ fault, would love to know what’s actually causing it with my box presently sitting on the bench. Went to Vorsprung event on Sunday instead of venturing to Goodwood. Only one C5 there, in Misano with a manual conversion with C6 rims. Anyone on here? Two B5 RS4, lost count the B7’s. A dozen C7 and handful C8’s. No C6. Was a little disappointed tbh. Don’t think I will attend again.
