Hand brake cables
Hand brake cables
Hi all ,tried Audi and TPS and Euro but no stock of hand brake cables and can’t find any ,one side has snapped and other side adjuster rusted solid this all happened when garage were installing coil overs after DRC finally gave up and leaked everywhere. Now don’t have an MOT any ideas would be appreciated. thanks.
Re: Hand brake cables
There was a topic about this recently. You can use cables from a A6 IIRC. Have a search on here.

Re: Hand brake cables
I presume there are two cables for the handbrake. Are both cables the same.
Eg order two of the cables listed above.
Mine are ok at the moment but these cables are getting rare.

NLA from audi, but look up the thread and the alternative was a good fit, IIRC

Re: Hand brake cables
Quinton hazell part no bc3861 length 1925mm
Not the part no you have shown bc3616 length 1958 mm Different length I believe.
I entered my registration number and they check for compatibility
See srichards link above mate.
And yes two are required.

Re: Hand brake cables
The one you showed comes up as not compatible on my search. I believe the 1925 mm length is the right one.

Re: Hand brake cables
Just had a full refund from parts In motion.
They say the above parts are not suitable for our vehicles.
Very strange !
As a few months ago they were suitable but out of stock.
I will phone them next week and update this post.
