Coolant Engine Temp Sensor

Post by live.marc » Fri May 28, 2021 1:19 pm

I see this excellent write up re the engine temp sensor on these cars https://www.flickr.com/photos/surgenor/ ... 349662229/
And yet when I ordered from Halesowen Audi and picked the part up, not sure why, :bash: probably distracted by the new models!
:biggrin3: But didn't check in the bag to see if it came with the surclip and sealing ring like the one above.

So I get home have a closer look and realised there is no surclip or sealent ring in the bag, just the temp sensor!!! (yet exactly same part number as in above photo!

At £47 you'd expect that to be there!

Any thoughts or suggestions before I go back to Audi?

Similar for me. I ordered the door mirror selector switch from Audi.
Turns out it is 3 parts.
The switch itself
The top black cover with the symbols on it
Then the plastic knob.
It is so irritating
I would go back to Audi and see what they say.

Standard for pretty much any auto manufacturer, if you want a "kit" it needs to be specified as such, otherwise you buy the parts you need.
Last time I bought a CTS (from my local VW dealer as it happens, it's the same part) they did ask if I wanted the clip and ring - beat me to it as I wanted them anyway.
