Re: Urgent suspension help
Does Astrosquirrel not have a set of springs he can ship? He's in the middle of breaking an Avant.... Certainly worth a PM.

Re: Urgent suspension help
Mate. I have a daily car. I just needed the help to work out what the issue was. Now that’s sorted I don’t mind another slight delay. What sort of timescale For delivery and cost for springs and shipping would I be looking at. ?Astrosquirrel wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 5:50 pmThat would be correct, though looking at the urgency of the situation, I would not be able to make it in time I'm afraid.
I told the guy I had the others from they looked like golf springs I have worked on over the years. He has just said he did have some old golf springs in the garage. But thought he threw they away and kept the rs ones. I think he got mixed up and threw the wrong ones out.

Re: Urgent suspension help
No idea if this helps but I have a set of unused Bilstein springs that I never used when I fitted the last set of suspension units?
OMG first post since March 2017! Great to still see so many familiar names still here.

Re: Urgent suspension help
Check if the option from Malcom works for you. If not I would love to help, though it'll take me at least 2-3 weeks to get them to you.Human Joist wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 6:39 pmMate. Re: Urgent suspension help
If it's any use, here are a few pics of the OE DRC springs fitted to my Bilsteins earlier this year.
Rear spring bare Rear spring mounted Front Spring mounted All the ones you have don't seem to have more than a passing resemblance to the OE springs.

Re: Urgent suspension help
Ich Bau. Cheers mate that’s helpful to see. Yeah it’s confirmed he threw the wrong ones away then didn’t pay attention to what he posted me. He’s refunded me now. I’m hoping to collect that set of eBay later so will have everything incase I need any other bits.
Malcom incase that doesn’t work what springs have you got then bud
Once again thanks for all the help on here. Shows that this site still has all the right people on here. Just shame we can’t make it easier to use like some sort of app but it’s getting there

Re: Urgent suspension help
I haven't looked at or touched my RS6 in over 2 years - a long story.
I recall that one of the last jobs I did on it was to replace a leaking rear shock. I could not buy just two rear dampers so I ended up buying a full new front and back suspension set inc springs. My recollection was that I had fitted all the dampers but, for some reason, I did not change over the springs(!).
I went raking through the garage this morning to find them but can only find these - see link below (sorry I've forgotten how to embed pics). My guess is these are the rears? I will keep looking.

Re: Urgent suspension help
They look good.
I’ve just collected these springs. They are off a plus so will sit a bit lower as well. Chuffed with this. Will get them fitted tomorrow
