Hey all, been struggling with this for a while. I had the bumper on the RS6 C5 Avant off to get painted, so had headlights removed etc. It's all back together now, but I'm getting the headlight adjustment warning light. Tried to do the adjustment with the VAG cable and VCDS but can't seem to get it sorted.

Can't do the Basic Settings adjustment - it shows 'Group 2 not available' in red when I try it.
I can do the output tests all work, albeit apparently intermittently. They cycle once, then show a can't communicate error in red. Turn the car off and on and I can do another cycle of output tests.
Any thoughts? I'm guessing I messed it up by turning ignition on with headlights removed, but can't see how to get it sorted again...
Cheers!

Headlight adjustment warning light?
Re: Headlight adjustment warning light?
There's no feedback from the headlights. Must be coincidence.
Use the measuring blocks to make sure that your level sensors see reading around 2.5V then do the basic settings as described in the FAQ.

Re: Headlight adjustment warning light?
1. Connect to xenon range (55)
2. Go to basic settings
3. Select group 001 then GO. It'll say 'adjust headlights' or something similar in the measuring blocks
4. Physically adjust the headlights (obviously you need the proper gear for this and the car needs to be level)
5. Go to group 002 and GO
6. You're done.

Re: Headlight adjustment warning light?
However, the car needs to be level. I don't think it'll let you set the set position (which is what it's asking for) unless both sensors are reading close to 2.5 (mid range). Maybe that's why it's failing.

Re: Headlight adjustment warning light?
It won't let me do that. Both group one and two show 'ERROR GROUP 001/002 NOT AVAILABLE' in red.
The measuring blocks are there (group 1: 12.12v Voltage supply 0 light switch status 0kph vehicle speed 0 acceleration; group 2: 1.39v front sensor, 2.56v rear, 49.6% Actuator Motor Activation 0.03s Time constant), but the basic settings just gives the error message whatever I try.
Hmmmm.

Re: Headlight adjustment warning light?
I'll try it on the level then, good idea!
