Probably a Lucas one from Euro Car Parts using a non-bosch regulator then.
Suggest checking it out and if the stator is still in good nick, replacing the regulator with the bosch one from my link above.
As long as it's mechanically OK and not worn, the regulator pack is the most likely thing - alternators are pretty simple things really.

If I remember correctly . The lines on the off side are engine oil and the ones on the near side aerial gear box . You'll just get an oil coolers worth plus what ever is in the lines

I did my alternator before xmas and it was a crappy job. Problem I had with the oil pipes was getting access - you need a 27mm crowfoot socket. Then, the pipe fitting started to unscrew from the filter housing, so the pipe collapsed and twisted. I ended up cutting it off with a cutting disc and replacing it all.

Both those pipes are engine oil - I took the filter off and drained the sump beforehand because it needed changing anyway, so there was just the dregs in the pipe and from the cooler. One pipe out to the cooler, one return.

I had my alternator renovated by a place in Streatham, SW16, Grove Auto Parts. 28 Rowan Road, they did a top job, new bearings, new rectifier, painted, all good. £120 - pretty decent.

Did you manage to loose tension on the belt from underneath?
And put some weight on the belt to prevent it rolling from other rollers?

Yep - if I remember right, you just put a 1/2 inch drive bar into a hole on the tensioner and you can lever it round. It's quite hard, so I used a big bar. You can't really see much but it's easy enough once you work it out.

Yep - I panicked and faffed about a bit, but it was easy enough in the end. Much worse awaited me haha!
