Aftermarket Rear Calipers
Hi guys,
Having a right mare with my rear calipers and their bleed nipples. Had a pop at getting drivers side undone whilst still on the car but managed to round it off.
Has anyone had experience with aftermarket ones? I was thinking of getting a pair to keep me going (http://www.eurocarparts.com/brake-caliper) whilst I get mine either refurbed or at least free off the nipples on the bench.
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Simon

I would be perfectly happy with some Pagid calipers from ECP for my RS6. Tricky thing is finding some that fit. The RS6 rear brake catalogue is the even horizon of parts catalogues. None of the parts ever fit.

Looks like the TRW one are more likely to fit. That'll cost you £197 for the pair if you get them today with the CRAZY30 code. Not a bad price. Of course, assuming they'll fit.

I bought one from ECP after one of my bleed nipples chewed up the threads on the way out. Looks identical to the standard ones only just didn't have the Audi logo on them.

I've got TRW rear calipers on mine from ECP. They are fine. I believe they are just refurbished genuine calipers, just with the Audi logo ground off. Just make sure you get the ones for the RS6 with the larger sized piston

I've got TRW refurbs on mine and and they are as good as gold

My mechanic who is an Audi MasterTech, has told me that the TRW ones are Audi ones with the logo ground off.
Fitted on the rear of mine and they are, of course fine!

Re: Aftermarket Rear Calipers
Just a follow up - got the TRW calipers and, as mentioned above, they are literally identical apart from the Audi logo being ground off.
The original Audi ones are actually made by TRW as well. Here is a photo of them side by side:

Yes. They are just a factory refurbished original. I think he will need to return the originals for the surcharge mate. I can get them for £100 each less the surcharge that was later refunded as I sorted another lad on here out.

Re: Aftermarket Rear Calipers
Yeah I will need to return them and the bleed nipples are stuck so they would need refurbishing anyway. Best to just get some nice new shiny ones - shiny is good.
