OEM Brake pads

Post by Jay_g » Wed Apr 20, 2016 3:35 pm

Don't shoot me...

Where else can I get the OE Pagid pads? TPS and Stoke Audi want £330. I can get the Ferrodos for £190 from a trader on here, so I'm quite against paying nearly double for OE.

I've tried looking on the bay, but struggling to find the right RS compound.

Don't think you'll get much cheaper than Stoke though. Maybe try the DS2500? Careful, though, you need 2 sets of the DS2500 for the front. Make sure you get all 8 pads.

OEM Brake pads

JDL brakes (trader on here) has the Ferodo DS2500s up for £292, £189.80 with the discount code on here.

The description says
Ferodo DS2500 front pads FCP1664H (8 pads)
( 8 pads required; price for 2 sets !!! )"

Sounds to me like they come with 8 pads? I'll get confirmation first I think....

Failing that, I found PW Motorsport have the OEMs for £199

I keep a set of Delphi OE spec pads (all 8 pads) for an RS6 on the shelf at work. (Parts advisor)

£87.50+vat + 6.50 (+vat) carriage if it would be of any assistance.

PS - B6 RS4 pads are 99.5% identical (and about 20 quid cheaper)
I got a set of them in to compare.

I just have replied on your PM, yes price is £292 + VAT for 8 pads, and you have 35% discount for EVORA code on checkout

previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

I'd go for the OE but I can't believe you can get the genuine ones for less than 200. Proper bargain if it's the case.

They look like the OE pads, and they also sell the cheaper £70 ECP specials too.

I am a bit wary though, I have a contact that works at TPS, and he couldn't get them sub £300, never mind anywhere near £200!!

Bargain. Philip Walker is legit. I've had brakes from him before. Go for it.

I'll make some in cardboard for you for £20. Just as good.

We've all tried the cheap pads. They're just not up to the job. Unless you never drive in anger, of course. In which case they are fine.

Ive got brembos on there at the minute, and they are <beep> awful. 2/3 hard stops and they are like using sponges instead of pads and are <beep> useless.

Yeah, I've tried Mintex, Brembo and AP. (Some might say I'm a slow learner.)

They are all inadequate for all but gentle braking. I wouldn't want to rely on them for a big stop from 180mph.
