Wind back rear caliper

Post by the cueball » Tue Jan 12, 2016 1:33 pm

Hi guys...

I'm just looking to double check that the RS has the wind back rears, and is there anything 'special' about them I need to know, like do I need to use VCDS somehow with them?!?

Since I got mine back out of storage, the left rear is sticking quite badly, so I need to sort it out.

cheers!!

C5 has cables, not motors. No VCDS required. Most windback tools will be for 38mm pistons, these have a 43mm piston and I had to use a lathe to make the tool seat properly around the piston.

I just bought this
https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/laser-5 ... Ajxy8P8HAQ

That worked on the back of my C6, and I'm sure its the same caliper just with EPB instead of cables (but don't know for sure)

C5 has 22mm thick discs and C6 has 28mm, otherwise yes they seem to be identical in design.

Although there are only 2 holes in C5 pistons and they are at 180 degrees apart, that 3pin one doesn't seem like a good choice.
