For months, I've had an issue unlocking/locking my car via the remote, and it not working, or working sporadically.
Now most of the time I leave it unlocked as its in my Garage. But it's got to the point where I can only unlock the drivers door, and after collecting it yesterday from having the gearbox serviced (new oil/filter/gasket) I could only unlock the drivers door. The biggest problem was stopping to get fuel, as I had to break the locking pin on the filler flap. (No doubt that's a million pound part)
How do I fix this? As its doing my head in!

Re: Locking/unlocking issue
Once you unlock the drivers door and get in , can you unlock everything else via the 'panic' button on the inside of the drivers door ? ( the button that locks/unlocks everything in one go) ?
Another thought , When you press the unlock button on the remote , this only opens the drivers door yea ? have you pushed the button twice in succession to see what happens ?.
there's a thing called 'selective' locking with Audi ( and all the other brands in the group) .
you can have it so that;
1 press on the remote only opens drivers lock, and a second press opens all locks
or
1 press on the remote opens all locks

Re: Locking/unlocking issue
Hi,
I have had problems with my central locking since I had the car, but finally fixed it. different problem to yours as it was to do with the car not knowing if the driver's door was open or closed. However, when I had problems with the remote and had to use the key, I couldn't open any of the other doors either. If you can unlock your tailgate with the key and open the little cover on the rear side trim (where the Bose amp lives), if you look in there you will see a small yellow (I think) pull cable that allows you to open the fuel flap. A bit late now, but may be of use in the future.

Use the Vagcom to test the state of the door switches, the clear all the remotes out of the memory and learn your remotes again. Put new batteries in while you're at it.

Re: Locking/unlocking issue
You might be lucky and just get away with the re-associating fob to car routine.
I cant remember the actual routine, but its the one where you put the key in the door and hold the unlock button and in the ignition ect ect
Someone on here should be able to tell you the actual routine. It might even be in the handbook , I cant remember.

Re: Locking/unlocking issue
You might have to buy new internals for your key. Then follow the instructions to "Match Key Fob" using VCDS Lite as Shopps mentioned.
The key internals are about 50 squid ? Do the Matching yourself and save the same amount again.
