Wagner intercoolers
I'm looking for some info from those who've fitted a set;
Is it worth the outlay?
How difficult are they to fit?
does the kit come with everything needed to fit?
Do they come with instructions in English?
Do I have to remove the front fog lamps?
Is there anything I need to cut that can't be put back to standard??
I'm gonna need to pull the front end off to do a timing belt anyway, so might as well do some Intercoolers seeing as I'm there.

Depends what price you put on peace of mind. For me they were worth it for not having to worry about them any more.
They are a bit fatter than the OE intercoolers so if you are using the standard shrouds, you need to cut them a bit to fit them to the Wagners. If you get them with the carbon fibre shrouds then I presume it just fits.
You should probably get some boost hoses, too. You can just about use the OE hoses (I am) but it's a slight stretch since they are a bit short for the Wagners.
Yuo don't need to delete the foglights if you use the original shroud. I believe there is also a fog light retain kit for the Wagners, but it's probably extra.
Unfortunately, Wagner are the only credible alternative to OE swiss cheese coolers.

I was going to go for the full kit but id have liked to have kept the fog lamps if possible. Im missing the o/s/f fog grill so the kit would have killed 2 birds with one stone really.
Im getting a bit lazy in my old age to modify things, so il probably just directly fit.

Looks like the Wagners come with the grills now and you can keep the fog light if want:

Here is a summary:-
Front Wheels off
inner plastic wheel arch covers removed (lots of screws!)
3 screws to loosen on each side to detach the bunper
undertray off
unbolt headlights (one bolt is tricky and it helps to have along magnetic torque screw type thingy)
take off fog light plactic grill cover
this will uncover the 2 very long sturdy bolts holding the bumber to body....off with them!
loosen the bumper to take out the headlights (obviously detach the cable from them first)
With these items removed you will have access to the directly connected hoses on the interkoolerz. I had two remaining smaller pipes but we didnt have the time or energy to get those on. It REALLY helps to have a little Vaseline on the area the hoses connect to the intercooler.....they are a tight fit but the Wagners fit very well. You can compare the original you have one layer of strengthening material running through the pipes longitudinally, but on the Wagners you have 4 layers of reinforced material!

I wouldn't use vasoline. It doesn't dry out so will aid the pipes to slip off too. Use a bit of washing up liquid and it will dry out in time.

I put Wagner intercoolers in. AND the Wagner Schrouds. AND kept both my foglights. AND the stock grille.
So pretty much, you can fit whatever combo you want.

I put the Wagner IC's in, and the carbon Wagner shrounds, left the stock grill and foglights as is...air seems to flow fine...just takes a bit of finagling of the carbon shroud.

Im missing the o/s/f grille so didn't know whether to try to acquire a new grill or not.
Was just gonna use the wagner grilles if possible - but I do like the idea of keeping the foglamps. id rather not cut anything if avoidable

What Shopp said,but I personally wouldn't bother with the carbon stuff. It costs quite a bit and you don't even see the bloody things once they're fitted.
I just bought the IC cores and fit them to the standard shrouds. So everything looks stock but doesn't leak, unlike stock. Probably a tiny performance benefit as well.

I put Wagners on mine and kept the original shrouds, if you have a dremel it will be an easy task. If using the original shrouds you need to cut 10mm or 15mm (can't remember exact measurement) off all the way round.

IF you can buy them without the carbon ducting, sure. The stock air ducting does not match the full size if I remember correctly, but close. I'd assume that you could still get plenty of airflow though. I asked the UK dealer if he would supply just the coolers, no shrouds (I already had pipes from him).
He would - but the difference in price with and without shrouds made it hardly worth excluding them - and at least the carbon shrouds are repairable if/when they crack, unlike the original stuff.
