Re: Audi RS6 Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor
Technically engine out, but I "think" may be possible if you drop the arse end of the subframe by a couple of inches - but will admit I haven't tried.
I believe the common cause for failure is in the box in the engine bay - some people have successfully repaired them in-situ by re-soldering.

Thanks, this light has just come on since i had a new gearbox put in....I'm beginning to think it might be related as i had a few other small issues when i got her back. Steering fluid leak, air conn recharge and now this. Other two easy fixes of course....i might try and find the box in the bay, do you know where its located ?

It's small 2 boxes stacked on top of each other and screwed to the firewall. One is brown the other black. Can't really miss them. Towards the passenger side on a RHD car.zippy wrote:i might try and find the box in the bay, do you know where its located ?

Re: Audi RS6 Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor
I had mine replaced at unit 20 last April - sensors were about 360 quid plus vat - and 8 hours labour to fit and grizz does them without engine removal so it can be done.
