Post by jangol » Wed Oct 29, 2014 7:53 pm

Guys,

Weathers looking poor so might not be able to service my C5 this wknd :(

Just wondering what I would expect To pay labour only for a service.. Both independent or stealers

I've got oil, filters & plugs already..

Well Audi is approx £ 100/hr but they wouldn't fit parts u have sourced.
She may be big and heavy but its whats on the inside that counts.....

Ended up doing must of the service myself today. Weathers been decent.. Bitch to get the old oil filter out (why is nothing straight forward with this car).. Didn't manage to do the fuel filter as I didn't hve the Right tools. Will tackle that another time.. I didn't replace the air filters either as they looked like they are clean out ones. Which I did. Can anyone confirm from the pic plse..

Yeah, that looks like a K&N cotton filter to me - they do a clean and re-oil kit if you want to keep them.

BTW, they *need* oil to work, so if you just cleaned them, get some oil pronto, or some different filters ;)

Just purchased this..

Should do the job nicely, only bag thing is I'll have whip of the air box again, then refit... I don't this yesterday & it appears I didn't refit it back properly, as the revs are hunting & its down on power
