Re: RS6 High Milers
75k when I got it and now 3.5 years on 96K with gearbox service, new battery, caliper refurb, various tyres and a remap and still seems sweet. However it had a big brainfart the other day when I put it in sport to overtake, Might have to get it on Vagcom but next time I have it out it'll be fine as per...

Re: RS6 High Milers
Like it, I suspect more 6s than not run a long long time on original box, only generally hear about problems and when looked after and not ragged they should last. As for the engine, seems pretty bullet proof.
What other 500bhp supercar with all these mod cons can boast such reliability?

141k, drc ok, box is ok, engine needs t-chains, needs oil cooler, no history, it's been neglected!! I shouldn't have bought it, but someone had to save it!!
Re: RS6 High Milers
I'm guessing u paid peanuts for it then? Which gives you scope for funds to bring her back to life.. I brought a 150k miles RS6 a good few months back.. A few air leaks but apart from that just the normal consumables you would expect for a 10yr old car...Whitey33 wrote:141k, drc ok, box is ok, engine needs t-chains, needs oil cooler, no history, it's been neglected!! I'm sure you will save it & I'm sure it will be worth it...

Didn't think it had timing chains. It has belts which need doing at 40K. I thus have had 4 changes. Not cheapWhitey33 wrote:141k, drc ok, box is ok, engine needs t-chains, needs oil cooler, no history, it's been neglected!! I shouldn't have bought it, but someone had to save it!!

Re: RS6 High Milers
There are chains that connect the cams on both banks; the tensioners can wear causing a nasty rattle on start up.
Some people just live with it but I've had to have mine done as she sounded like a million mile taxi in the mornings...

My RS6 C5 is now over 205k and is doing fine. Secret is regular servicing and fixing stuff as soon as you detect an issue.
