water ingress
Re: water ingress
Where did you get this module from? Have you coded it to your car?
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

Re: water ingress
water ingressed wiring/connectors in the car maybe ?
Re: water ingress
maybe yes, but iv had the carpet out for five weeks with a dehumidifier in there for about two weeks it was pretty much bone dry when everything was put back together, and everything was working when i tested before the drive home!ahoooga wrote:water ingressed wiring/connectors in the car maybe ?
Re: water ingress
Its possible that the cables/wiring has oxidised( don't know if that's the correct word to describe it) . But where the water and damp got into the wiring it corrodes the wire and any connections within the looms running to the CCM. In your case you had a dehumidifier in there, but did it manage to get under the protective sheath on the wires ?, unlikely I would say
I'm not saying that's the case for you, but bear it in mind as a possibility if you cant get it sorted.
I had an alarm keep going off on a passat for the same original reason and couldn't work it out for the life of me for ages , turned out to be the wire for the internal alarm sensor which ran down to the CCM
See what Shoppinit says about coding your CCM first though.

Re: water ingress
I hope for your sake you are wrong - but I fear you may well be right. The symptoms are very similar to those I had.
There's a thread on here headed "Disaster" which chronicles when I drowned mine in a very large puddle - filling the floorpan with water. The problem is that the cables are copper and the crimps aluminium, and when immersed in water the Al eats the Cu... There are literally hundreds of crimped joints in the floor pan...... When mine drowned Doug spent days painstakingly re-soldering every joint. We got it working but there were still odd quirky problems
Good luck!
