The guy is a fool. Been no help to this forum, not saying I have but can't think I have ever dropped to the level he has.

Good God...is that your best Chunk?...all I did was suggest that "your crew" should maybe welcome new members instead of trying to alienate them...the C5 RS6 is very close to becoming "a thing of the past" due to high running costs and potentially catastrophic gearbox failure expense...the last thing the poor old girl needs is "wee boys" getting arsey with punters willing to take a punt on a fuc*ing fantastic "thrill ride" with a-hole comments you and "your crew" seem to love dishing out.

Robbo, not being funny or anything here but there are far too many variables when trying to compare times. Air temp, standing ground..... All you need to know is that your car is running right and that you are happy with it. As I said your car does look nippy, GPS timing is really the only way to time your car, sadly not many people own a v-box to do such timings.
You have a good claim for highest bhp, most on here have probably been done at MRC so have a good level to gauge but even then the different air temp can make a good difference in power. If you were local to me or even at Xmas when I come up to Scotland we can have a blast and you can compare to mine, only a few standing starts though as I fear the ox might fall apart on mine.

Sadly some of the old owners don't leave here when their cars do.
Robbo was welcomed on here, strange first post of his though asking questions only he can answer, no?

Rob, you do seem extremely interested to see just what warp factor your car is capable of and how fast it can get there. On here at least and as used by the likes of MRC and looooooooads of non-VAG tuners/race teams, V-Box is the only way that you are going to produce legitimate, accurate results that others accept as gospel.

No idea how much they cost as it doesn't interest me, I just mash the throttle and enjoy the ride! Anyway, as fast as mine is, the new toy destroys her on A-B country road runs (that I do a lot around here) and can take all the twisty stuff at least 15% faster than the big beast.

As for Baku, it is a shame that you are back to your old ways fella as I was hoping things had sorted themselves out for you. As for calling me chemo boy, whatever floats your boat mate. I mention it a fair bit only as it such an integral part of my life right now after 7 months of regular poisoning (I also have no problem sharing ;)) and so much of what I can do/can't do revolves around it. I am not some person that has given up on life saying "woe is me", I am not on flaming benefits because of it, I am kicking ass and taking names as much possible and living my life as normally as possible despite all the fairly nasty side effects that are with me from the moment that I wake up to the moment that I fall asleep (when I can sleep....)

Say what you want on here but in all honesty, I bet the god damn rootin' tootin' farm that you wouldn't say it to my face. Challenge accepted?

I think for Robbo's sake the crap needs removing from this thread.
If a search is done there will be 0 - 60 times for -
MRC stage 2 (amar)
MRC stage 3 (bum_bum)
As for mine which is MrC stage 1 (+) I have no idea. What I do know is that it is faster than the works van!
I'm not sure if there are any times for standard car. All times need to be done in the same weather conditions.

Robbo, if you can get your hands on a v-box then fire the times up, actually looking forward to see what your car can do. I don't like the idea of a manual rs6 but a fast car is a fast car.

Just out of interest, if standard 0-60 is about 4.7secs...........how much does it cost to mod a car to get it quicker, must be a lot?

Remap, £500 or so, exhaust, £1k or so will see 500 bhp ish. I suppose that's 4.5 ish.

oh dear .. seemed to have opened a half dozen can of worms there :-/

I don't want the fastet rs and never claimed I did thats a wee bit silly as I agree about to many variables , I just thought in a forum of people enjoying very fast high performance cars and chatting about modding them it would be beneficial for all to see us amateurs having a bit fun & seeing what u get for the money spent..even for ppl who don't own a rs6 ..

hhmmmm seems to always be a battle on here ? cant we all hug & have a reach round ?

footlong .. these comments towards you are disgusting mate.

think it would be nice if we were all a little more positive !!!

Don't take the wrong way, not that you would, you're a good'un. It's just that video as a timing device has been proved wrong, very wrong. Making a claim down to 1/100th of second via a phone camera will raise a lot of eyebrows, it didn't 4-5 years ago but many have since posted Vbox results or 1/4 mile slips, so, Vbox is king now. The times have changed, people have now been there, done that and are wearing the threadbare t-shirt, you know what it's like...
If this were the B7 forum, they'd ask for the V-box raw file so they check for elevation changes to ensure you weren't cheating by running down hill!

As for the other crap in this thread, ignore it.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Group hug... Image

I think it would be interesting to have some baseline performance timing. The vagcom has a useful tool for logging speed runs and it's accurate to the vehicle speed sensor (ie accurate enough) and to within a percent point or 2 depending on tyre wear.

I don't think 0-60 times are terribly useful, but some 20-80 or 30-100 would be useful so that people can check the health of their car without needing a rolling road.

It might not be a precise science, but it's better than nothing.

Good attempt , But you need to see how far out the speedo is first .. most will be 3-5 mph out at 100 so you could be shy of the 100 mark ..

As above get a v box .. Thats what i use ..

In case you didn't know you can rent this equipment from the manufacturer, whether it's the PerformanceBox, Vbox or whatever.

Although, if you're making changes I'd want a good solid before and after using the same equipment so owning one is ideal. Maybe someone would lend you one, if you were interested to do the timings properly but like me and mine, I don't care what it's capable of. It feels great and I like it, job done.
