Let me guess... the inclusion of Menswear (or Menswe@r) in that list stands out a little

Re: What *are* you like?
I started to list all the bands I'd seen in my head. It hurt, so I stopped. My mum took me to an AC/DC gig when I was 6months old, oddly enough, my first major concert 14.5 years later was an AC/DC concert (Razor's Edge tour), loudest thing I've heard in all my life, an indoor 21 cannon salute during "For those about to rock we salute you" made my jacket blow about like I was in a storm. Seeing Kyuss on the Metallica "Sandman tour" changed my musical tastes for life.
Also, seeing Nirvana at the first "Big Day Out" was pretty special.

No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: What *are* you like?
Like Bam, I've seen more bands than I remember but there are a few that stand out.
First gig - Smashing Pumpkins @ NEC. Nearly died of exhaustion - soaked in sweat but freezing outside and no drinks, coach journey for 2 hours home.
I've been to loads of festivals too. Radiohead @ South Park Oxford was one of the best. Rain poured down but utterly excellent.
Loudest gig - Oasis @ Knebworth. I was stood at the bar waiting for a drink and The Chemical brothers set was so bassy that I was shaking.
Last 2 gigs I went to - Chas N Dave @ Aylesbury and Lisa Hannigan @ Norwich Arts Centre.

Re: What *are* you like?
Yep Chunkster, just rolled over to 34 though!
Glasto is just down the road for me, so have been there lots, although not so much since they started putting up bigger fences
Went to a couple of Monsters of Rock as well and seem to remember the Kerrang stage being pretty good in 96.
One of the stand-outs was watching David Bowie at Glasto in 2000 (could have been 2001 - I can't remember). I do remember the set being awesome. A dry festival (no mud) and a set full of 'classics' from Bowie last thing on the last day to finish in style!
Think the Pumpkins are the only band I haven't seen which I really want to. Saw quite a lot of 'bigger' bands at various festivals.Nobby wrote:Like Bam, I've seen more bands than I remember but there are a few that stand out.

You seen 'The Wall' now then Shopp? Whatcha think? I would have liked it more with Dave Gilmor in it but can't have everything.
Was talking to my brother at the gig saying that we'd pay over £300 each to see a Pink Floyd gig.

Re: What *are* you like?
I was disappointed. Crap atmosphere, even for a stadium. No sign of any musicians except occasionally Waters. Sometimes there was no-one on stage at all, notably when we had to suffer a video projection of Waters' early days for about 15 minutes.
Was kinda hoping Gilmore might make an appearance but wasn't to be.
And yet the concert got rave reviews. I can only assume the journos were too hung over to actually go and made it up.
