The End of R5 SKX :-(

Post by philroach » Sun May 12, 2013 3:16 pm

Guess it comes to all of us eventually .....
After 6 and a bit fantastic years , mostly laughs , and a few tears , I am parting company with my beast next week for something a little more sensible , and , hopefully , a lot more easy on the pocket
Have been offered a fairly pitiful P/X for her , but hope she will turn up here again some time
Thanks for the banter , advice when needed , and the fun at the meetings in Ide Hill
Its been emotional :beerchug:

Has it been put in the 'cars for sale' section at all ?

I would of thought an ad in there might give better results than a part ex of a dealer or at least the chance for a fellow forum member to get a good deal.

THE VULTURES ARE CIRCLING. Depending on time available and the dealer, could be a good way to claw back cash Phil? Not worth the hassle?

havent advertised her as it was a bit of an impulse purchase and the P/X was the easiest option
Cant be fussed with tyre kickers and test pilots , and dont intend to mess around swapping bits .
Do have full standard exhaust , Miltek non res centre sections , 3 winter tyres, 2 spare wheels , boot tray and net , Vagcom cables etc which will be sold seperately at some time in the future
If I got a firm cash offer , I could cancel the P/X , just had her MOT'd and serviced at 73K miles , suffered another outlay to renew steering pump and front arm bushes etc , and now just getting tired of waiting for something else to go wrong , bless her

I totally understand just not wanting the hassle, but, what timescale are you working with before you hand over the keys? While it may be a hassle, if you were chopping bits, as long as the person swapping/buying was prepared to pay the worktime to do it, could make you a nice bit of extra money. There would of course be the flashing back of the ECU, assuming you had her mapped on the Milltek/wagners, but meh.

Other than that, that Lala chap seems serious and I have pointed him in your direction so you never know. Either way, the handover time is the critical bit surely.

Was yours a Muggy Blue Avant? Think I might have spotted this today... Glimpsed one on a very similar plate (I think, but can't be sure).
