All - I am looking at getting DAB in my car. In an ideal world I would like to keep the stock system.
In the past I have tried units like the pure system where you tune the radio to the DAB receiver but you have to regularly retune which is a pita. I have seen the below which seems ideal:

Has anyone used this or does anyone have any other ideas or solutions?

Re: DAB tuners
I think you're along the right lines there. Here's a video of it working with an RNS-E:

Seems too good to be true. Definitely worth investigating further. I would want to know if it works with the existing diversity antenna system.

Re: DAB tuners
That's a 2010+ RNS-E though. Not sure if it's relevant.

Re: DAB tuners
Thanks, I'll call those chaps. What I didn't like was that he mentioned tuning in the DAB which sounds like you have to tune it to a spare FM frequancy. If that is the case it's no good for me as I live in London and will get interference from all the pirate stations. I'd need it to go into an aux realistically. Might have to go aftermarket system I guess...

Re: DAB tuners
Oh yes. It says "Modulated FM frequency range 87.5 to 108MHz" in the ad. You definitely don't want that.
There are plenty of other dab radio modules about, but it would have been nice to have the DIS integration.
There might be another way of getting the audio into the RNS-E rather than FM modulation. See what they say. Keep us posted.

Re: DAB tuners
Just spoke to them. It would seem the best option is the Alpine system. The system they fitted to the A3 on the YouTube clip needs the steering wheel radio controls to work. In my car I just have the steering wheel that is used for turning the front wheels.........
It will mean that I have the Alpine control unit but at least I will keep the OEM sat-nav not that I use the crap nav but it'll look stock.

Re: DAB tuners
Yes, I like the look of the alpine unit. The only issue is find somewhere to put the controller. And is it wired? I believe so.
You could get an xcarlink to give you aux input or use the tuner's Aux-in; The xcarlink will give you better sound quality.
I quite like the look of this one, too:

But you will have to have VIM to be able to see the screen when driving.
