I've found that dealers seem very reluctant to inflate to the listed 40psi for some reason, and I also found out the hard way that the crappy Seat/Skoda/VW/Audi compressor in the mobility kit is very unlikely to inflate an RS 6 tyre to 40 psi as the hose comes off the compressor end at that pressure... Because a lot of petrol station forecourt airlines won't fit on the valves, I bought a digital 12v compressor from Halfords that works a treat.
I've noticed uneven wear on my saloon running at the dealer's ~36 psi (wearing more on the inside), so the 40 psi recommendation works for me. Your milage may vary (literally!).
