My old MR2 has been in storage for a few years and the owner is thinking of getting shot so I am going to put a cheeky bid in to see it I can snag it back as that was hilariously all over the place with the power down.

gunmetal grey with grey wheels! Absolutely mint!!! Was 310bhp and bought it from a guy i know from the gym...
He tunes cars and spends most of his time in his van!
He drove the seat 700 miles in like 1.5 years! Always cleaned it and parked it! Was awesome but only used to give me an unbelievable 8mpg as i couldnt hold off thrashing the <beep> out of it always! Lol
I Needed something for the work commute so had to sell but was definately awesome...

Nick,

I have a mk2 golf with 360hp (at the moment!), from the middle of 2nd gear to the top of 4th its quicker than my rs6 but thats because it weighs just under a ton. When you throw in twistes it kills the RS. But if I am going to do 200 miles on the motorway in a hurry I would take the RS.

One of my mates has a cupra r with 380hp and we find that on long runs it is too loud as you have to have a 3" plus diameter exhaust on these to get the power hence the noise.

My advice, get another "toy" that you can tune the fcuk out of and keep the 6 for more "civilised" hooning.

Off topic DK but how does the c6 compare seeing as you had 3 c5`s , obviously going to be faster but is it as involving?

I am getting used to how this thing throws its power down and want more but dont want to sacrifice noise and involvement to win the dyno war.

Indeed, I expected that if I were to purchase one that shortly after, the "novelty" of that straight line acceleration would wear off and it appears that looks particularly likely..

P.S Nice stable of cars youve owned, surprised you no longer own an r8 as that I imagine is the closest audi would get to the sound of a 63amg(pre turbo)

R8 V10 is definitely next

I did love my V8 R8, the feel was perfect, but it was a poverty spec one, and this C6 is complete opposite spec wise so it was hard not to resist....

So, by my calculations, the C5 must be three times as good!? Just kidding.

I know the C5 is not what we can call a great handling car, I've been pax in Nigel's R8 around the ring and know what that is, but with these 65% stiffer Hotchkiss, it is very impressive and flat, it is actually a load of fun on country roads now and keeps on surprising me with just how quickly it can take a corner with so much damn composure and hardly any roll. I don't think anyone does uprated ARBs for the C6 RS6 as it is so rare, worth seing if they do it for the C6 A6 quattro and if they are bigger diameter vs the C6 RS bars I reckon.

Amar, it will still push wide and you'll be going quick when it does. If you wanted better handling you'd change the diff, Quaif could build a 4:1 mod for the C5. Gripper diffs are probably even better again (for Audi's). Not sure if it's ever been done on a C5 nor if anyone would want to. B5 yes. C5 probably not, it's a heavy starting point and it's an auto.

Look at what else DK has had 3 of though, the B7 RS has to be the best handling four door slammer in his list. That's gotta be the natural progression if you want direct steering, road handling and adjustability... it just needs a TTS strapped on. Job done.

I've had it push wide with the Hotchkiss on, entered a corner way too quickly. It felt fat and clumsy. My fault though. The more I read about how boring the C6 is from DK. I reckon I'll swap my C6 dream for a 997 turbo one, C6 like power and R8 like handling.

Its the age old question, where do u go from a c5 rs6 that has the same space speed and sound

I thought of getting a 997 but what I gain in handling and speed I lose in practicality and theres only so many cars I can have in one house so I`m not going down the route of getting a practical estate alongside the porker when I`ve already got the clubman and hatchback. I am holding out hope that the c7 will sound and handle awesomely but the bhp will potentially be lower and again the turbos will mute the exhaust tone. Why oh why didnt they :audibash: do something special with the new rs4.

Amar, late to the thread here, but is there a specific reason the premier and not the ds2500? I'm in the market for pads and have been trying to figure what I'll buy.
