UNIT 20 - THANKS

Post by Dylan17 » Mon Jan 23, 2012 8:03 pm

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to say how happy i am with the service received from UNIT 20. I have just bought a 2005 RS6 avant, so based on the remarks on this site and not being too far from Chester i decided to take the car over to Martin for a service and a general check up. Even though the car needed quite a few things doing, intercoolers, cam belt, suspension etc Martin was more then helpful and the quality of the work done and the way the car feels now is just brilliant. Martin was more than understanding and explained everything clearly and went through all the bits and bobs changed/ upgraded and now, the car feels like new! So am a happy chappy!!!

I know there have already been a few write ups on Unit 20 but i just wanted to say how professional they were and how understudying they were, i don't think i will ever take my car to Audi again!!

So if your car needs servicing, upgrading, sorted out i highly recommend UNIT 20 for any work needing done on your beloved Audi RS (or VW)

Thanks again Martin.

Cheers

Dylan

I echo all the above, top service from Unit 20, and I can be very very picky. All work completed is explained in great detail, and even though Martin knew I was prepared to spend money on getting it perfect, he was totally honest and told me I didn't need to spend any extra, I had budgted for an odd DV or N75/Oil leak etc on top of the bill. Everything was screwed together and lined up properly again too, and my intercoolers look super shiny. :)

That looks fab, love Avus. My Mum/Dad/Sisters think the exact same about me being so passionate about an 'estate'.

Hi there. You on DRC still or just chose not to have her lowered when sticking aftermarker shocks on? I am having mine raised a little as the roads here are bloody awful and I don't think I have quite enough height to get away with a lot of the bumps at present with my stuff on low setting beddding in current before final alignment etc..

I would hate to drive mine around Surrey. There's more speedbumps than roads. My mate's subaru flies over them, I would have to creep over them at 2mph.

It's the sudden dips in the road that get me. I was stonking along down the downhill stretch of the A31 today as it goes from the Hogs Back in to Farnham, well in to warp speed as Doug wanted me to see if codes for the gearbox would flag up again and I hit a drop in the road that never phased any of my other cars and I had a mild brown trouser moment and the suspension took a big dive all round! That and just the flaming lumps and bumps on our suspension is a nightmare. I am frequently in Grenada seeing my folks & family etc and on our little backwards volcanic island the roads put this place to shame. Grrrr.........

Fluffy's shocks were built up for humpback bridge jumping which STI's do very well when set up properly as you can probably guess, oh the memories.

Anyway, sorry to divert this thread but it happens in a lot of the threads Dylan ;).

Liking the comments, yeah sorry the photos was before suspension upgrade! Its sitting quite a bit lower now, but not too low!
To yorksrs6 i had the majority of your things done also! Fell off my chair when heard the bill, but then had a new suspension, cambelt, intercoolers, gearbox service, crankshaft seal etc etc so a fair amount of work but all done so car goes like a dream!
I got four new tyres (goodyear aysemetric) but rubbing on knobley thing, so quickly sanded down and now ALL good!
Mr footlong, they are the bilstein pss i went for sits lower but not too hard, car feels tight now!
will put some new photos up asap once i have the new plate on!!!
Cheers for comments, loving the way a thread deviates and elaborates other topics!!
Cheers dylan
