RS6 C5 Cambelt change now due

Post by crazybees » Wed Dec 21, 2011 8:04 pm

The time has now approached for me to get my C5 cambelt changed, there's no way that i'm taking it to a dealer, does anyone know or can list the UK's top 5 specialists that I could take her to? I'm based in Middlesex, but don't mind travelling. Thx

Hi there.

Firstly, FON :D

Now that is out of the way, while I would recommend MRC Tuning, you are so close to Fontain (http://www.fontain.co.uk/) that you can't discount them for a cambelt change with/without pumps etc. While their hourly rates are a bit more than MRC, they are still far cheaper than an Audi stealer. Give them a call, they are friendly and know what they are talking about!
Current:

23' C8 RS6 Vorsprung - 23' RS E-Tron GT Carbon Vorsprung

Gone:

"Brutus"- C5 RS6 Avant - MRC stage 2 - Milltek non-res + 100 cell cats - Wagner ICs - PSS9 - H&R ARBs - OZ Superturismo LM - C6 Custom brakes - HD RNS-E - Various other bits - 555PS/832Nm
"Taz"- C7 RS6 - MRC stage 2 745PS/1095Nm
12' Cayenne Turbo, B7 RS4, S3, Cupra R, XJR, EVO VII, STI8,5,2&WRX, 106 GTI&XSI, other crap.

Nice one. BTW, you did an excellent job when you fitted my Milltek, taking time to get it perfect. :)

(then the Audi dealer undid that work when they replaced my gear box, it squeaked like crazy :( )

Morning All,

That is using O.E supplier parts just not in Audi boxes, although saying that a couple of tensioners are Audi boxed parts as you can't get them O.E supplier. We do only use quality items.

Thanks for the kind words Rupert.

Ben.

We only use genuine Audi parts as they come with a 2 year warranty .. We charge a little more but that's down to the cost of the genuine parts ...

I've used Amd Essex since I've had the car (apart from DRC done by Camberley) as they were closest to me, and I have no reason to change that in the future.

Incidentally, there was another RS6 last time I was there in mid December. Anyone from here?
