Finally.......

Post by dogiatrix » Sun Sep 05, 2010 5:55 pm

Hi all - another newbie RS6 owner here.
Black '05 saloon, 1 previous owner, 30k miles with FASH (@ West London Audi).
1 year extended Audi warranty too.

Bought after a full pre purchase multi point check at West London Audi on Fri (apalling customer service there by the way - long story etc).

Needs cambelt change soon I reckon (costs for this have been factored into the final price).
Private sale (due to extended warranty), although advertised thru' non Audi dealer.

Got a good p/ex price on my '51 black S6 saloon.

Just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU, to all for the excellent advice on this forum and also for the more personal advice from Martin (Grizz at Unit 20) and DK (thanks guys for your patience).

I have waited for this for nearly a year now - for the right one to come along.
Thoroughly enjoyed the drive down from London (M3), the sound of the Audi sports exhaust is divine.

Am praying for a "stress free" ownership experience, unlike some on here (gulp) but am aware that things can go wrong.

Have already been in touch with Rob at Camberley (as Grizz too far away) re cam belt change etc in the next few weeks.

Can't do pics as camera broken.
Some on dealers web site though.

Thanks again all.
No doubt I'll be posting on here more often.

By the way (in answer to another thread) my insurance is only £21 more than for my S6 @ £480 (excess gone up to £500 though) - 45y full NCD etc

Thanks Eddie

Sadly, not natural leather !
Yes am thinking of getting a road angel type gadget soon.
It has RNS D, so will research for an all in one sat nav / ipod / phone / road angel type combo - if there is such a thing.
Grateful for any pointers.

The 2005's still had RNS-D? I thought they all ran with RNS-E after late 04? Oh well.

Welcome Dogiatrix to a world of horsepower and hurt (wallet/family life) all within the realms of 6 ownership, however should you require a Roadangel I have a "connected" unit with a mobile laser detector that I will sell

congrats irwin ... Well worth the wait as you have bagged a cracker!!!! With the audi warranty I'm sure you will have a stress free ownership ... Though I would start putting aside some money each month as a personal warranty fund, either to extend the audi one when it expires, get a warranty direct policy as I have done, or just keep as a slush fund ...

I'd say £100 a month will do ...

Oh, and you NEED a Milltek to get the real RS experience

Enjoy

Thanks DK.
I really appreciate all your sound advice to date (will defo buy you a pint or two, if/when we ever meet).
Re Miltek - am happy for now with the "optional extra" Audi sports exhaust.

The policy still has just under 12m to run - so early day yet for "contigency fund" planning - but, can see where you're coming from.
Am really happy (for now) with this baby - compared to all those that I looked at previously/ran past you etc

Best wishes

Irwin

no worries mate, I admire your patients, I couldn't have held on that long but you ended up with on of the best out there.

I'm picking my Plus up from Camberley audi on Weds morning if you want to hear a Milltek in the flesh ;-)

....

£100 tucked away each month with make it much less painful come renewal time in 12. Months ... (its just a tank of fuel after all)

just picked up a voicemail from Camberley audi ... Its seems after having my car for THREE weeks they have only got to working on it

The ironic thing is, I have an audi dealer 4 miles from me and I took it over an hour away to Camberley on the back of feedback on this forum only to have this.

My expectation, which I communicated to them, was I would be picking it up on Weds morning when I get back to UK from hol ... If its not ready for then, then they are just as bad as every other Audi dealer I have had the displeasure of using ... Thank god I will never have to use one again now its out of Audi warranty
