Mine just 'farts' under heavy load jut briefly, just like some pressure escaping from a hose around a clip. I'm pretty sure its just a lose clip!

Could describe it more as a 'follow through'

They shouldn't fart as they are recirculation valves not blow off valves

Fart still not gone after replacing them again, which means I have a small boost leak somewhere.... I feel a road trip coming on sooner than I wanted.... ARRGHHH!!

Have you got any fault codes? I broke a pipe on the standard ones before i fitted the Forge items and instantly got 'limp mode'. They are quite sensitive.

Also, do you have the correct springs? I think the forge ones are yellow. Not sure about yours.

The last set of Forge ones I had was on my B5, and they came with 3 sets of springs of varying strength. Do the APR ones have similar adjustability?

Possibly if they havnt got the right springs then you might be getting a leak there.

The R1's make a cow "mooing" sound when on low boost, air vibrating the diaphram upon recirculation.

Edddie, APRs are Diaphram based not spring so that not the problem.

Grizz/Snoopra - Cheers, so it's normal then. It happens only through the 3-4k RPM range under certain conditions, not to heavy right foot. Which would tie up with what you are saying. So I bunt my hands for nothing last night fitting a replacement set.. GREAT!!!!

Like I said the car runs like a dream, thought I'd fixed one thing and induced another problem!! They joy of a 6 :-)

So what is the benefit/difference in practice of the diaphragm ones over piston type (like forge or hyperboost)?
