Jeez your up early!

Was kinda thinking of doing the same thing but the Mrs is due to drop in April around about the same time as service will be due so two days away ''messing about with that car'' probably won't go down to well..............

Yer Car is looking Great woodlum, we need to meet up sometime.

If you are looking for paintwork to be done right. Go to my mate Raymond at Protrim 01569 764257 (Stonehaven) he does most of the sales cars for Specky Cars.
Good Job. He painted the rear quarter of my 1967 splitscreen VW Bus last year and it has made the rest of the bus look like it needs done!
As for garages for servicing etc, try my mate Paul at Firstdrive Cars 01569 766766 in Stonehaven. We grew up together and have played with VWs and Audis for 20 years.

Hi Maurice,

Yes deffo have to meet up some time, infact a mate of mines is planning a rolling road day at Star Performance in the next month or so with some guys from the S2 forum and I was going to tag along to that so if your up for that let me know.

I've got a contact at Specky cars who will do a hommer for me :bigblink: so if he can't do it I will give the lad you've mentioned a shout for sure.

Never heard of Firstdrive as I'm a toonser! but 20 years experiance speaks volumes will give them a shout (have they serviced your gearbox as I'm thinking about getting it done, or will maybe just leave it alone as it works fine just now)?

Let me know when your free to meet up and I can have a run down to Stoney.

I'm in Aberdeen as well. I had my last service done by Highland Audi as the previous owner hd always had it done by them. They were £200 cheaper than the Stealers in ABZ for what they were classing as the 60k service, car has 55k on it the now.
Would like to have the next one done an Unit 20 but the road is long! Might have to make a weekend of it!!

Kevin,
Gearbox services, there are only a few folk I would use for that. I have done it by myself to my last S8 and its not realy very hard! but considering the cost if the garage get it wrong, then get Spec cars to do it. My RS is under warranty and was at 58K when I bought it so I had the box oil changed by them. Saying that they didnt want to do it. No No Sir they are sealed for life! Ah so thats why there is a filter in thereI said. Oh well Sir if you want to waste your money no problem! that will be £365 please. Dropped it of on the Thurday night got it back on the Friday. They need it cold to set the level correctly. The only other person I would use is John Mitchel in Laurencekirk (South of Stoney) He is The Man! very good. He did the gearbox oil in my wifes S6 just before Christmas, for free as I replaced the power connector on his Laptop (a nightmare of a job!!) I have the procedure if you fancy a go yourself?
Keep me informed about you trip to star performance. I would not be putting my car on the rollers though! I have broken to many gearboxes in my time doing that!
Cheers for now.

Cheers Coullboy I'm undecided whether to mess with my gearbox or just leave sleeping dogs alone and £375.00 is mental for an g/box oil change!

Ive already had my car on the rollers at a charity r/r day @ Wallace performance, guy was pretty gentle with it and it came back with an almost standard power figure which I was well chuffed with but don't think I will do it again unless I get it remapped etc.

Give me a shout if you want my old TPM's to play about with and I'll drop em off to you sometime.

Hi smiler2833, there seems to be a few 6's turning up in the north east, what colours your car and is it a saloon or avant?

Went past another Daytona avant in Union st on Sat afternoon, we both were gawping at each other as we went past each other, his car looked lovely and clean where as mines was filthy!

Hi Woodlum,
Yea there are quite a few RS6's in the nort east. Mine is a 2003 mugello blue avant with black leather & carbon trim.
With all this crap weather the car is a nightmare to keep clean just now!!
