Bought my 'Plus' there.Ash7 wrote:That's the one. Nice looking car, the chap was friendly and helpful. I have read some less than favourable things about those chaps though and did get the old 'to our knowledge' line. Do you know the car or the dealer?MoRS6+ wrote:Is it the one at Fontains?Ash7 wrote:Update
Nipped out at lunch to see a Daytona RS6 at a local-ish dealer.
Nice car, looks to be in excellent condition - just a quick once over - and at a pretty good price.
Does come with indy Warranty; I've just spend a few minutes doing some research on the warranty provider. Christ! Scared myself half to death reading the horror stories and typical avoidance tactics employed by these cowboys. So, what have we learned...Audi warranty is a must have!
SL55 - mate of mine has been looking, I did some research on it for him and found some horror reliability issues and monster repair bills - £15K!! - for some poor fella who didn't have a MB warranty. Scary stuff.
There are mixed feelings about these chaps, but for me personally, they were very good.
They could have pissed me about, but just didn't. When the DRC failed after literally 3 weeks, they just threw their hands up and said 'Yes Sir, 3 leaking shocks.. We can replace the whole lot for a H&R coilover kit for free' to which I promptly agreed.
Car was transformed afterwards and the coilovers were fitted very well. When I went to Wheels-InMotion to have a full geo done, Tony commented how perfect the ride-heights were and he didn't have to touch them.
So for me, they were ok, but then I just think they treated me slightly better because I had already bought an S8 off them and then bought the RS6 plus - so I think they saw me as a good customer (either that or they bought the RS6 plus for good money and the coilys didn't make a dent in the profit..or both).
I ask you, would Audi offer to do that? No, just repeated demoralising trips for remedial (DRC) work.
I see they are only offering a 3-months warranty on this car - strange as I had a 12-month one on mine and that was only back in Feb. 08.
