please help a desperate nissan micra owner...

Post by chiphopster » Thu Nov 19, 2009 9:00 pm

Dear All, Thanks for looking at this one...
Due to house renovations I have been driving a purple auto 1.1 nissan micra for 2 years...At last it broke down this morning, when my wife was driving it and she has given the green light to get a proper car...
I have been studying all the rs6 forums for some time now, and been to view a couple of RS6 Estates...
Could you please advise me whether in your learned opinions this one seems like a good buy or a bit of a stinker...Do any of you know this car?
cost £14750, on an 03 plate, 88K miles, black with black interior...has got H+R and milltek etc...here is the link...
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1325782.htm
otherwise there is this one...
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1330763.htm at £16500
or this one...
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1348026.htm at £15000
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, mainly as I don't know much about these things! Thanks, Chris...

Hard to chose, all seem in superb condition

Black on black seem to be highly regarded

Seems like quite a leap from 1.1 to a 4.2 Biturbo?

Where abouts are You ?

My advice would be to pay one of the specialists from MRC or Unit 20 to check out any prospective purchase, it would be money well spent and a good way to get to know your local expert who You will (possibly) be seeing quite a lot of if You buy an RS6 !!.

Do MRC come to the car or do you have to get it to them. How much do they charge for an inspection?

No idea how much they'll charge or even if they'll do it mate just a suggestion !!

My car has the silver interior and if I bought another one I'd probably look for black as the silver can be hard to keep clean, depends on what You're planning on using it for or if You have young kids.

I see the one with the black interior has got the low fuel warning light on already !!

MRC will charge between £50-100 approx.
You will need to get the car to them.
Also check the search button and you will find a wealth of info on what to look out for.
Ideally on 88K and generally you want
FSH obviously
recent cambelt
DRC suspension replaced with aftermarket coilovers
Evidence of gearbox service
Look out for worn disks/ pads (can be pricey)
Even tyre wear
No evidence of damage repair, even and paprallel shut lines, no masking marks in the doorsills, look under carpets etc
And check that absolutely EVERYTHING works! This will take a long time but worth it E.G windows ,aircon, sunroof, all seat functions front and rear etc etc

I would definitely recommend an inspection as you could end up with some huge bills if you don't buy well. You will also be in a better position to negotiate if anything is broken. Still looking for one aswell. Good luck with the search. Black on black looks 8)
Audi rs6 c6 avant - hopefully coming soon
Audi A3 black edition
E9x 330 msport convertible - going soon

Those micras are ace. Is it the CVT gearbox? At least you'll appreciate the RS6 box coming from that!

My Micra has a sport setting on the auto box and deserves maximum respect. It is awesome. 0-60 takes about 16 seconds. Although mine has never been over 45 mph as it has been broken since I was given it by a little old lady who gave up driving for medical reasons. I would consider selling it for the right price...I'll start the bidding at 30p and a twix...

What about a half eaten Wispa Gold (too sickly for my liking) and 22p for the Neesan?

You'd never have this with an RS6, whatever it's condition :)

If it's a CVT box, it might not be broken. That's just how they feel to drive :)
