lamborghini murcielago vs the 6.

Post by ecain63 » Sat Sep 05, 2009 12:22 pm

Driving from Poole today i had what was probably going to be the best race of my life. As i came off the Breeze VW roundabout beside tower park i spotted in my mirror a bright yellow lamborghini murcielago, reg 333***. Im hoping someone here knows the car so we can give him some grief on the road.
I let him past and whilst along side he gave me a little wave. Then, as if by magic the tell tale blip of the throttle and sudden increase in revs signalled that this guy fancied marking his territory all over my Audi.
I wasnt expecting to win this duel, but i also wasnt expecting the following.

Down 2 gears in flappy mode and i was ready to have a pop at his ego. Luckily for us there were no cars in front for at least a mile. We simultaniously floored. The noise of his v12 absolutely drowned the v8, but this only added to the satisfaction as he looked across and saw that i wasnt going anywhere. It was only as we hit !2@mph that he started to make any headway, which may i add was only a car length by the time we had added another 30 mph.
That was enough for both of us so it was down to road speed again and a friendly flash of the lights. I pulled along side and above the engine noise i made out the words 'thats a f***ing quick Audi'!
I duly pointed to the boot of the car and let him see the MTM badge along with a good look at the back end of a truly amazing and practicaly superior car.

I know from a standing start the lambo would have made more distance on me, but when you measure up the two cars are definately in a very similar league on the road. I dread to think how much fuel he would have used too.

I want to find one now after reading this! Its really satisfying doing exotica. I nailed a 360 a couple of months ago and the guy was absolutely extatic about being beaten by an estate car!!

Im going out this avo to see if i can find that car again. Got a camera ready and a spare pair of balls. Hopefully i'll be successfull as i'd rather like to have a chat with the driver and find out how long he cried for yesterday.
Actually, maybe he hasnt even got the car anymore, abandoned it in the forest and set it alight possibly. lol. It would be a tad embarrassing.

Well. I spent 2 hours sat outside Cafe Shore (with a pint of lemonade) at Sandbanks and there was no sign of the raging bull. I did however see an Avus C5 RS6 Avant drive past, which i presume got onto the ferry to swanage. Either that or the owner lives in Sandbanks as i didnt see it come round the 1 way system. Other cars spotted were a couple of new M3's (not a rarer sight i know), Nissan GTR, KTM XBOW, Bently of some description and a Merc ML 4x4 'Black'.

There are some very nice cars at sandbanks (both exotica and top spec Mercs, BMWS, Audis, Land Rovers etc - mostly on private plates that cost as much as the cars), but then it's not surprising given some of the stunning houses and their multi-million pound asking prices. :)

Yeah, I noticed that too. Any house that's of a "normal" size is in danger of being knocked down for a rather substantial profit, unsurprisingly.

Came up alongside a new GT-R yesterday, left him alone!
Came up alongside a 911 carrera 2 today, left him behind!!

GT-R was on M25, and traffic was heavy, great looking car in gunmetal grey, mutual nod of respect. I may well replace the 6 with one when kids start driving, and no longer need "dads taxi".

911 was on dual carriageway, that cleared for just enough time to gun it and leave Mr porsche weeping. I slowed to turn off, no mutual nod of respect, just anger at being left behind "dads taxi"! He should have spent less on hair gel and designer sunglasses, and saved up for a turbo.

Yeah, i dont think that anyone should attempt hunting a GTR, there are loads around here now and its making the driving a little unfair. They should really make posters, to let other drivers know that it really isnt worth the effort. Especially if its a twisty road.
