Which begs the question... what's the comparison like?

It covers all the mechanical parts for which I had concern.

Guy's, if you bought your cars from audi, it will be covered for the first year by them, after that, if you bought a 3 year extended warranty, it will be audi THRU A N OTHER like inchcape.
I had my DRc changed by Audi 3 times in the first year, and also the box. When the DRC failed after about 13 months for the 4th time, inchcape took over th claim (i called them as I had told Audi to poke it with a long fat stick), and they had no record od DRC or the gearbox.

This is what i reckon is the score.....
Audi charge you £1800 for a three year AFTER SALES warranty.
They pay Inchcape/car care plan/whoever about £500 to take on the warranty.
Then Audi get the warranty work @ £120 per hour paid for by CCP /inchcape/ whoever (you have t remember that 99.9% of audi owners DO not know there cars like we do, and do not own S/RS models and NEVER make a claim and ALWAYS use the dealer for reair and service) audi make a grand for selling the Warranty, plus get all the work, plus all the mark up on materials. All work is time listed and the warranty comps know and have tis info, so this is what gets charged.... Money for old rope for Audi.......

All IMHO of course.
It's all Bollox.

Inchcape offer an A and B warranty. Make sure you have the most comprehensive one (I think this is the B).

Its a very good question.

The C5 is great for getting all round driving, especially in London. The V10 is more grown up with a smoother gearbox, more refined suspension & ideal for trans-european driving. It is a little bit more detached from the driving experience of 'feeling the steering and road surface through a manual gearbox'. I've got another motor for the more 'hands on' driving experience. The V10 is not suitable for my driving around London, especially with the MTM Stage 1 remap with 700 bhp.

I'm toying with buying a B7 RS4 which I have test driven before & for which I was impressed.

If it makes sense, I think the difference between the V10 & the V8, is similar to the difference between the C6 and the C5.

Does anyone know if you can purchase this warranty after your audi warranty has run out, i bought my O4 6 private with know warranty. Audi quoted me £2500 for 1 year cover of which i fainted if there is a possibilty of getting Inchamp warranty i would go for it.

You're absolutely right ... it makes no ****ing sense.

Doing too many things at once & finishing a lovely claret !

The difference between the V10 and the V8 is similar to the difference between the C5 & the B7 ....

Exactly. If mooch has had his DRC changed, and the box is covered, I think that in itself is worth the peace of mind for three years for 850 quid. Anything else that breaks is just a bonus!!

Yes you can, subject to the 20 point check. Read the beginning of this thread.
