upgrades for the Sat nav?
upgrades for the Sat nav?
Hi, Cant find anything on the forums about this. Are there any upgrades to the sat nav unit in the RS6 that allows it to do post code searchs? or is the only option to fit the newer RNS-E system...?
RE: upgrades for the Sat nav?
The RNS-E doesn't even do full postcodes, just the first 4 characters then you have to choose the street.

The latest CD for the RNS-D also offer the four digit search

Where can you get one of these latest CD's? How much do they cost?

Tele Atlas do the discs, I'm looking to upgrade my RNS-D disc soon too. They cost about 113 quid at last look. Their website allows you to search on your car model etc to make sure you get the right discs. I believe it's essential to see if your car uses the DX disc or not - my 2003 RS6 does.

I dont spose the CD's can be copied to make a Backup should I lose it???? Would be nice to try a disc first to see what what the upgrade is like before I buy one, ;o) Anyone got a backup I can try. I would return it ofcourse.

Discs also available from dealers for about the same price.
I believe they have some reasonably sophisticated anti-copying code on them - never tried, but search around and I think there were threads on this a while back.
You're welcome to borrow mine - but depends where in the country you are!!
