'manual' rs6

Post by kn9 » Tue Apr 28, 2009 8:20 am

hello,
Anyone heard of a manual converted RS6? Or at least a RS6 engine mated to a manual transmission?

Last I heard Grizz was going to try a box in his.

I was at Unit 20 at the start of March, and he hinted that the next time I saw his car, it would probably have the box fitted..

QST had a black saloon on the ramps when I visited middle of last year. I don't think they had done the conversion. Had some very big black carbon-like wheels, and it was about to get ceramic brakes.

How are you getting on with yours? Also, 5 or 6 speed?

Nice grizz.... is it a 6 speed from rs4?

sorry for more questions... has anyone seen a complete rs6 engine from breaking car for sale? how much would it go for?

talking about the rs6 engine specifically ie. excluding drc problems and some auto. transmission problems, is the engine quite a reliable unit? any major issues, like the worn down cams trouble with the rs4?

thanks

Might be a silly question, but wouldn't an S6 manual box do the trick?

I've absolutely no idea, but can't help but think if it were suitable, Audi would have used it.

I'd be interested in trying if my gearbox gives up the ghost. Turns out I much prefer manuals. Had to have a tiptronic to realise that though.
