Post by SteveCuz » Fri Sep 19, 2008 9:44 pm

Just to let you know in case you haven't heard but I got a letter from warranty direct offering me to upgrade to unlimited cover for £45 (previously £5,000 limit) sounds good eh?

Steve,

So this is unlimited claim value, are there lots of things that are not covered. ( Is it as good as audi extended warranty)?

Time will tell. I have never made a claim (hence which I am being offered the upgrade).

I have heard a mixture on reports on here. Like any warranty company I am sure they don't write cheques easily. On paper at least they cover everything, engine, gearbox, suspension etc.

Like I said time will tell but I knew from the outset I would only be covered to £5k limit as my car is 2003 and I took it so for £45 extra it will be a no-brainer for me.

I got the same letter from them last week, although it was £80 for me to upgrade. like you say Steve, some mixed reviews on here, but talking to Camberley Audi they reckon that Warranty Direct are pretty good when dealing with them which is what convinced me to go down that road. paid the £80 anyway so time will tell how good they are.

i paid the extra as they did pay for my gearbox. Having a much harder time with this Lambda sensor.

Even thought the independent engineer saw the sensor fault on the diagnostics screen in the dealer they still want me to pay to get it removed to allow them to test it in front of an independent engineer again.

If somehow the sensor is not faulty then I am in for a 23 hour bill for the labour !
