New B7 RS4 Avant owner (or rather it owns me at present!)

Hello everyone. I’m Dave from Cheshire; Aubrey is the name of the car (yes I’m one of those people). It used to be called Audrey, but with the luck I’ve had with girl cars — including already this one — I thought it had better go through reassignment surgery.
A couple of months ago I bought a 2007 Phantom black RS4 Avant — 66k miles, three owners, original dealer plates, Milltek exhaust, stage 3 map (all done by the second owner. Lovely (sort of). It’s in generally good cosmetic condition, with a little age related wear. The previous owner had, however run it on an ever decreasing budget meaning as mortgages, marriage and kids came along it was sat under a cover for a lot of his six year ownership. Whilst his intentions were good, it hasn’t really done the car many favours. He did keep it serviced and MOT’d, but since it’s last 2 year service it only covered less than 200 miles. It’s now due a service, and not before time because the EML light has just come on and I think it’s only running on 7 cylinders. Other issues were the tyres, which were ten years old (now replaced), and the brake rotors are rattling like mad on their carriers! I ordered new standard discs and pads only to find (after four hours labour shifting seized bolts — due to being kept under a cover!!!) that the ones currently fitted are 380mm instead of 365mm, meaning I need the standard calliper adaptor, which Audi do not sell separately. I’ll probably have to buy some callipers off eBay, take what I need and re-list the rest. Thankfully I don’t need a daily, so I’ve always seen something like this as a bit of a project.
Anyway, sorry for the essay. Have a great weekend.
Dave
