New S1 owner.

Hello, .
Recently purchased a 2015 S1. Going through the car bit by bit, to satisfy myself that it is what I hoped it would be, as far as operation is concerned, appearance-wise it is fine, in Misano red, relatively lightly specced, which suits me nicely.
The fondness for things mechanical has been with me for 60+ years. Avid collector and professional restorer of classic continental motorcycles made between years 1973 and 1983, I have spent happy hours in the company of Laverda triples, M Guzzi V twins, Ducati bevel L twins and BMW R90S models, both in smoke and orange. Motorcycle carburettors also formed much of my work which extended to Dellorto and Weber car applications. Retired at 75, bikes disposed of over the years and an olde 1959 Dot trials bike is left, which reminds me of happy days gone by and the work ahead to complete its restoration
On the 4 wheel front, have enjoyed a lot of different cars over the years including a BAM engined S3, 1988 Porsche 911 with Option 491, and a Boxster 3.2 S manual.
Getting on in years now, so carefully considered a last car, something small and nippy: an S1 is not an obvious choice for an octogenarian, but it was mine. Not regretted it one bit, and fettling it is enjoyable, not cheap, but enjoyable. Last job was the Haldex unit: oil was clean, pump filter clogged, rebuilt and replaced with new O rings, refilled and the pump "relearn" process completed and all good thereafter.
So, look forward to reading and learning from members, whose knowledge of this car is very much more than mine. Thanks.
