Hello all, ive been an avid RS246 veiwer for a while, just never really got down to subscribing tbh! Anyhow, done it now!
Proud owner of a stock 06 Black optic B7 RS4 saloon (RS04 VAN) after 12 years of owning various VWs, entering shows etc. (i won 2nd prize in show n shine in 2008 with a prize G60 i bought in 2000) which essentially paid for the RS when i flogged it three years ago!
The car has covered 82k, with up to last week, not a PROBLEM....until the EML came on and its in need of a new inlet manifold. Audi quoted £3000 fitted, when i threatened to pull the car out they reduced it £1000, god love em...whats all that about!? :audibash:

Most probably will get it to MRC as it seems on here that those guys work wonders with the cars so thats good to know.

Anyway, nice to meet you all, ill try and throw some pictures up when i get time but keep up the good work and the floods of useful information!! :jump_clap: :kissmyrings:

^ stalker

Welcome pcglader and FON. Did Audi say why it needed a new inlet manifold? Would suspect it was full of carbon and their remedy for anything is always replace rather than repair. It it was, MRC could have probably cleaned it for less. Anyway at least you know it's new now and will hopefully make closer to the published power figure.

Rule 1 by the way, on both the RS and G60. :beerchug:

Have you any pics of the G60? I was into the VW show scene many years ago, still have a few friends in it in fact.

Yes I'll throw some pictures up....haven't learnt how to do it on here yet...help appreciate!!

As for our expensive mates at audi, both banks of manifold flaps were loose, (they now send a video to prove)
I've managed to bash them down a few more hundred quids, so all in now they supplied and fitted the part. I'm happy with that, plus it feels like it's gained 100 horses! :biggrin3:

Welcome and FON

I'm guessing they didn't give the inlets and valves a good clean whilst the intake was off?.

Yes they did, I asked them to clean whilst the inlet mani was off. They had the car a week, came out with 50 more 'road test' miles on it...and an empty tank. Then they thanked me for bringing it in as they don't get many RS4s in, especially the older ones...
