Hi all, currently without a B7 RS4 Avant but actively looking to purchase soon.

I've read that the B7 RS4 Avant was produced 2006 - 2008. The latest models I've seen for sale have been 2007. Do 2008 Avant models exist?

Also I will be looking for a dark colour, Black, Daytona Grey etc. In the brochure I have there is a darker Grey than Daytona, called just 'Silver metallic', not to be confused with Avus Silver pearl effect. I have not seen the Silver metallic colour advertised, again does this colour exist?

Hope to have more interesting Techy questions once I have my RS4.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

By 2008 production was pretty much just cabs, so you're unlikely to come across anything later than a 57 plate Avant.

The silver metallic is just what it says - a light metallic silver; very light shade, and a fair few around, but probably not what you're after by the sound of it. Don't know what brochure you've got but it certainly wasn't a dark colour. Black and Daytona should be fairly widely available - also keep an eye out for mugello blue which was a rare choice but looks the business IMO.

The brochure I have is Edition 8. 10/07. 2008 model year and lists standard colours as:

Avus Silver, pearl effect
Deep Green, pearl effect
Daytona Grey, pearl effect
Imola Yellow
Silver, metallic
Missano Red, pearl effect
Mugello Blue, pearl effect
Phantom Black, pearl effect
Sprint Blue, pearl effect

The colour swatches show Avus Silver as the lightest, then Daytona Grey, then Silver (darkest of the greys), then Black?
