Bought a red 2000 B5 RS4 last month

Post by tjrundy » Mon Jan 07, 2013 8:03 pm

Hello!

Finally now that the Christmas rush is over and I've got a bit of time to myself, I thought I'd come and say hello. I picked this up, early in December.

The previous owner got MRC to add a miltek exhaust and did an ECU remap - really flies. The kids love it!

Seemed to be in great shape for a 12 year old car. Got a strange problem with the rear wiper (operation is intermittent having changed the motor - original was siezed) which I'll ask about once I've got a video of it, but otherwise seems to go well.

It's on 119k and it looks like it's only done 5 k miles in the last 3 years. I won't be doing more than ~4k / year myself as I live in central London... wanted something to hoon down to the beach at the weekends in!

I'm an embedded electronics engineer by training, but now I co-run a video games company and a precision engineering company. Therefore might be tempted to have a tinker with some of the electronics in due course!

Anyhow, hello and goodbye for now!

Cheers,

Tom.

Ps. Still getting used to the extra horses... my last car had a slightly smaller blower - a Smart Fortwo!

Hahahaha

Going from a Smart 4/2. Sorry but you must feel like a kid at Christmas.

Looks clean and in a great color. If I was not looking at an Rs6 i was going to consider one of these.
:biggrin3:
I love drag racing and track racing. I have had many fast cars and below is a short list of the ones most memorable.

MR2 Turbo REV2 (standard) > MR2 Turbo REV1 300HP> MR2 Turbo REV3 450HP (Nick Name Biscuit tin) > Celica GT4 ST205 WRC 300HP > R32 GTR 425HP > Honda Integra DC2 (standard) > EVO GSR 300HP > R32 GTR 450HP

Now on the hunt for an RS6

FON

I do like a cheeky B5 RS, thinking about one for SWMBO'd once the lease runs out on the 116d.

'no love, its exactly the same, just don't put diesel in it :biggrin2: '

Enjoy the new toy, looks lovely.

If they had more rear leg room I would have had one instead of the 6, they are stunning.
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!
