Hello jef very nice the spit of mine was the spec and mileage did you buy from performance paddock it's just looks like one they had for sale ? I see you have a vast knowledge on waxs and stuff what wax would you use on our silver car ? And by the way looks very clean

Hi Sam, it has 58k on and bought it from dealer in Sheffield. I always prefer the look of sealant as the base on all my silver cars mate. At the moment I haven't had time to machine polish it (paintwork is very good so probably just going to give it a quick glaze) so far it has just been clayed and then finished with 2 coats of Werkstat Acrylic Jett.

Once I have machined it, will finish with 2 coats of Werkstat Acrylic again then top that off with a couple of coats of either Chemical Guys V7 hybrid or a spray wax. I find using sealant as the base, then topping that with wax or hybrid gives much better finish, almost makes the paint look liquid-like on silver cars and the flakes really pop nice

Yeah Sam, I was gutted when I read they had stopped production. I fortunately still have quite a bit left and it lasts ages. Polished Bliss have announced the replacement as a direct swap for the Carlack Acrylic kit.

Any decent sealant would do as the base coats though, the shine and pop is all in the preparation stage (removing swirls and defects through polishing), the better the prep, the better the final finish. Once the paintwork is good, I think you will find a couple of layers of any decent sealant followed by a layer or 2 of wax or hybrid will give you great results mate.

Hello Jeff sorry to be a pain so iv got life shine cars been clayed and prepped so now wash and then car lack is a sealant is that Wright ? I don't have machine polisher so is applying by hand ok ? And what wax or hybrid do you recommend ? And I see you've had the same problem with the window trim and am gonna give that polish you said a go once I get car back from mrc , Jeff your Rs is it stock or do you have work planed ? If it is still working, then wait until it starts to fade as you have to remove the coating before applying a new one of sealant. Yeah mate, the window surrounds were a strange one, I expected them to polish up easily and was surprised that most things I tried had very little effect until I tried the Scholl S3, that worked amazingly with very little time and effort to go round the whole lot. It is an excellent polish as well if you have any defects to remove ever on your paintwork.

Sorry forgot to add, it is stock at the moment apart from a Milltek non-res non-valved cat-back exhaust I've just had fitted last week. I have nothing else planned at the moment but am sure that won't stay like that for too long

Hi mate, the Carlack sealant needs to go directly onto clean well prepared paintwork, which would mean you would need to clay the car to remove the Lifeshine first and then apply the Carlack Acrylic products.
Bet you can wait to get it back, sounds great with the Milltek on too!!
