Newbie, new to Audi with S4 Avant b6

Post by S4Paul » Thu Oct 06, 2011 11:56 pm

Hi All,

I have just made the switch from BMW to Audio following 5 BM's in a row the last being an e46 M3 (M3 Cutters?)

no mods as yet, couple of ideas and upgrades in the pipeline :jump_clap:

Car needs detailing and and has a couple of previous owner marks that need sorting!

Cheers

Paul

Welcome to RS246 Paul.

The e46 M3 is fab car, it gets praised a lot over in the B7 RS4 section.

One question, Any reason why you did not jump from the M3 to the RS4? seems like a logical step.Im guessing due to running cost/family ect?

Hi Sonny,

You hit the nail on head family/cost, I am also upsizing on the house with child no.3 due just before Christmas!

The M was/is an awesome all round car I will have another in a heartbeat. I'm sure I will also own an RS4 at some point too, friends have said I get bored easily. So it may be soon.

Have to say I am loving the NA V8 sound though..... Possibly a Milltec for Christmas?!?

Thanks for the welcome.

Paul

P.s. Do you get many 'M3 cutters' (M Forum) on here?

Not sure about M3 cutters, but there are loads of ex M car owners on here (who have seen the light) lol

We also have 2 members who own RS Audis and an e46 M3.

Our recent Spa&Ring trip saw 4 RS Audis and 1 e46 M3 in the convoy. The e46 did well, but lost its puff once we hit 170mph lol

I seem to recall the B5 RS4 having a limiter than had a very 'poor tolerance'........... is this the case with the B7 too, or have you paid to have the limiter removed Sonny?

Yes, all the cars was remapped, to be fair not sure if the M3 was mapped/limiter removed.
