Can any 1 help
With the alpine kce 425i do I have to have the TV tuner or will it plug straight into the rnse on my 2006 b7 rs4
Alpine kce 425i
Re: Alpine kce 425i
Hi,
I believe the Alpine unit replaces the OEM TV tuner using its connection on the back of the RNS-E!
Don't think having the tuner is a requirment as its obsolete after fitting the above!
Maybe someone more clued up can correct me if I'm wrong

I've already answered this question from you on another Audi forumangryant wrote:Hi,

Sadly the reply from angryant is incorrect - the RNS-E will NOT directly accept the composite video from the KCE-425i or any other AV device.
You MUST connect it via wither the Audi TV tuner, or a MultiMedia Apater such as the Kufatec IMA-Plus.
These do two things:
- send signalling over the CAN bus to inform the RNS-E that an AV input is available
- convert the composite (analogue) video into the digital form required by the RNS-E
