DRL bulb upgrades ?

Post by Two Stroke » Sun May 06, 2012 7:49 pm

Just bought a B7 RS4 and the DRL bulbs are pants. Looking to upgrade to better, whiter ones. Anyone have any suggestions please ?
Thanks

PIAA do some that are a pretty good match to the Xenons, and they do H11's as well for the front fog lights.

I have the PIAA bulbs and they are a vast improvement. For all that is good in the world do not get new sidelight/park light bulbs. Whomever had my car before me put some 'white' ones in and they melted the connector as they run much hotter.

DRL replacements have been fine so far.

The improved DRL colour is worth every penny. I didn't bother with the fogs as thought they're never used but in reflection I see them parking up every night. Do them too.

I've got a set of LED CANBUS parking bulb replacements - they should be just fine just in case you want to swap them as well.

I've got the PIAA driving lights but the swap of them looks a bloody nightmare :bash: :audibash: as the front wheel and reservoirs need to come off apparently.

You talking about the front fog lights? You pull the plasic surround off from the front and change the bulbs there.

Or did you mean the xenons?

The sidelights and DRLs are accessible from under the bonnet.

I've done just this today - I replaced the H11 fog's with PIAA ones [£34.99! ], the DRL's with PIAA 'mirrored' look.
A bit of a fiddle to do, make sure you take a look at ElsaWeb - I found this invaluable today.

Hope this helps mate.
