RNS-D tv tuner fault

Post by Jez141 » Wed Mar 16, 2011 10:29 am

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to ask on here first to see if anyone knows much about faults on the tv tuner with the rns-d?
the head unit itself works perfectly on radio/cd and nav, but when turning to tv mode i just get a blank screen
and no matter what i press dont get any menu's up or sound/picture, have looked at the tuner unit in the rear 1/4 panel boot trim
and it seems to have a fan on the front which doesnt seem to run at all dont know if this means could be knackered tuner unit or not?
Any ideas on what i can check? or is it gonna be a trip to get it on Vagcom?

Cheers for any help

Can't help with the fault I'm afraid but I am going to have one of these tuners around very shortly (coming out of my car).

It will be for sale so if you need one let me know.

Best of luck.

Sounds like exact same problem that i had. A replacement tuner in the boot cured mine.

worth noting that most will be analogue and next to useless in increasing areas of the UK - the hybrids which offer freeview reception cost an arm and a leg but are the best long term option if you intend to stay with your RNS-D and not upgrade.
2011 S5 Sportback in Phantom Black with black leather, 9x20 7 spokes, tech pack high, phone prep high, adaptive xenon plus, intelligent key, memory seats pack, sunroof, B&O, Audi Drive Select & quattro Sports Diff, cruise, DAB, parking system plus, storage pack, through load

===SOLD=== 2002 S8 4.2 Final Edition in Avus Silver with mauve (purple!) leather, 8.5x20 9 spokes, bi-xenons, 10 way electric Recaros, added RNS-E, hybrid TV and bluetooth goodness - and a Milltek ===SOLD===
