Audi oil shortage?...

Had my car booked in for service and its first MOT at Stafford Audi for over 2 months. So, less than 24 hours before the appointment, they call me to say that there is a shortage of oil for the RS6 and it is on back order from Audi with no forecast delivery date.

Bearing in mind that even with 2 month's notice they weren't able to provide a courtesy car, so I've had to arrange for lifts back and forth, now I have no choice but to do the 1.5 hour round trip to the dealership for its MOT (which can't wait), and then take it back again for a service at a later date, whenever that might be. Meanwhile, the car will be recorded as being late for its service. They have offered for someone to come and collect the car to take it for a service, but I'm not sure I am comfortable with someone I don't know driving it all that way.

To be honest it makes my blood boil 🤬 and just smacks of shear incompetence to me!

Has anyone else had trouble with oil being in short supply and on back order, or is this just their f**k up?

Hi, yep, same for me - booked for Monday last week and they cancelled on me on the Friday before...gave me the same reason as you.

They booked me back in for today and they completed the service this time.

Mine was booked at the dealer for a service (involving only an oil change) for around three weeks. Dropped it off at 8am. At 4pm the dealer calls with the news that they don't have any oil in stock! Left it overnight and was all sorted the next afternoon.
