I can see RC is not offering a chip yet, anyone else found an alternative?

I am - from DMS in Southampton. takes it up to 720 bhp and 1000nm torque (proper stats from Dyno). It is night and day to the stock and well worth it.

Nice - I'm guessing no warranty?

Did you have any 0-60s?

I think he is saying we remap these cars rather than chip them nowadays; I don't think he is saying he has actually remapped his car.

And any remap or chip will invalidate your warranty regardless of what the tuning company tells you. Yes, you might get away with it but be prepared to pay for new engine / gearbox should the worst happen (whether it is related to the tune or not, standard cars blow up too).

Yeah, always a risk, but with a map its 0% chance of any sort of warranty work! I would say from his wording he had the DMS map applied to his car. Its annoying as the car defo needs a map or piggy, I was hoping I could leave her stock.

Really? I haven't driven a C8 but I thought the C7 Performance was pretty quick as standard. The problem for me was that you could only accelerate for a few seconds before you were into licence losing / prison territory.

What was your previous car?

Odd. I couldn't see his previous post about DMS until just now.

Moved from a F90 M5, but it was chipped so I think it was north of 700, it was around 2.8 sec to 60 on a good day.

I will say this about the C8, it is defo a more versatile car, if you put it in comfort mode it is like driving a 7 Series / S Class. The rear-wheel steering is also very good.

Yeah it is only getting worse mate as well with lower speed limits now on motorways etc.

Dealer will still know it’s been mapped.

I don’t think it’ll trouble the best cars at the traffic light Grand Prix as the gearbox is too slow.

Agreed the ECU will still store the fact that certain key parameters have been altered, even in the past, and flag it up as a tuned car.

I have no problems with people doing it at all but they do have to accept the consequences if a driveline problem occurs like mike says.

Not sure what you mean? My gearbox is far from slow! Had many fast cars previously - this is equal to pretty much all of them, if not better.

Compared to the best double clutch offering it’s slow. And in the traffic light Grand Prix contest it’d lose horridly to a 992 TTS which is king of that trick.

Agreed a slush box can’t compete with a pdk
