The configuration is offering a dash cam.
Does anyone know what brand it is if debadged ?
It’d be great if it was something like a Blackvue that I would want ....

Where is it on the Configurator ?
I ordered the Audi standard ones front and rear, which are PDI dealer fit

I’ve also ordered the Audi one. Dealer fit option. It’s called the Audi Universal Traffic recorder. Had the same one fitted to my performance. Not sure if it’s another make rebranded or an Audi product. Was really neat and had a useful app that went with it.

I don’t understand why Audi can’t utilise the four cameras already on the vehicle? I know BMW have just started to offer this on their vehicles with ID7

agreed why they cant uprate the cameras to 4k and give the option to link them to a dash cam system
i would think this will eventually become an option if BMW has started it on there models

Hi Michael
It’s almost one of the last sections in the configurator under AUDI Genuine Accessories where you can select things like bicycle rack etc, under the sub section of “assist systems” which list either “front and rear camera” for £699 or just front for £499. It’s just above the very last subsection that allows you to select a “mobile espresso” machine so that you can use your spare capsules when out on the road after you’ve run out of natural adrenalin....
It’d be extra nice to think it could be all done under Audi “approval” (for whatever that’s worth) and also be a great dash cam like Blackvue

I was looking at the Blackvu for my C7 PS but I have been told that it can interfere with the DAB and I should look at the Audi one as it wont....anyone any experience of this ?

No problem with the Blackvue if only fitting to the front screen. According to those that have done this, problems can arise when fitting a rear Blackvue if you route the signal cable adjacent to the DAB aerial from the rear 3/4 window. Fitters recommend using ferrite cores at each end of the blackvue cable to prevent interference. I have a front Blackvue but have never got around to fitting the rear camera so I have no direct experience.

OK thanks for this - having just had a muppet reverse into me in a car park (5k's worth of damage to me) I want to get front and rear installed so maybe to be safe i'll go Audi. The guys at Richter Sports will come and install at my office and the price is pretty good too. Messing my BBC 6 music experience would not be good so i'll stay safe with the audi one!!

Quite interested in having a forward one. I guess it would be best to get a proper installation done rather than attempt myself when the new RS6 gets here in March?

On the dash cam type subject - anyone got any experience of Road Angel? My current car has the traffic camera database built into the sat nav, which is really useful, is regularly updated and has helped on many occasions. My understanding is Audi Sat Nav hasn't got this as its illegal across in Europe and being a German brand they wont do it.
Anyone have any insight into if a traffic camera database can be added to a C8 A6 sat nav? Or alternatively any views on how good a Road Angel is? Was toying with the idea that while the dealer is fitting my new car with the Audi dash cams before I collect, would they also fit a Road Angel at the same time.

I use Waze which seems to be great in terms of fixed cameras and obviously the live community then update for mobile vans and police - I use this as my sat nav via Apple CarPlay on my C7 and it works really well. Would be better if it was touch screen but that aside its great, and free!

Thanks Mike - Hadn't even thought of this!

Basically that is the problem solved. I will use Waze via Apple Car play as my Nav platform!
