Agreed
Why all the manufacturers are racing to unsustainable electric cars and not hydrogen fuel cell cars is a puzzle to me but that's a different thread

I very much doubt it could beat an M5 on back roads... Audi's bread and butter has always been the fastest wagon.. it lost that when the E63S and M5 came out but I thought they had quite a few years to beat the competition. Instead they come out with a heavier RS6 that's got less power than the C7 Performance... not to mention none of the features like shifting power to different wheels like the other two.

Re: Car Wow - Audi RS6 v BMW M5 v AMG E63 v Porsche Panamera - DRAG RACE
...my first experience with an RS6 after 6 years of S4s.. It may not be the fastest car among the fastests on a drag race but after having it for 3 weeks and driven 2.5k miles on a round trip from London to Lake Garda in Italy, driving through French autoroutes, Italian autostrade, twisting roads in the Black Forest and German autobahns carrying wife two boys and 4 large bags, I am extremely impressed with this car. It is very comfortable to drive long journeys for driver and passengers, impressive passing power / acceleration, does not roll and super stable on twisting roads and feels very easy and effortless to drive. It does not feel like a 5 metre long car when manoeuvring or driving around town, I guess this is thanks to the 4 wheel steering? Was expecting suspension to be harsh but to my surprise it is not (have the Sports suspension with DRC). I can not justify a sports car and a family car, so in my case it ticks both boxes. I think it is the perfect long distance cruiser.

Four wheel steer has transformed the C8 IMO
And let’s me honest a E63 look like a Turkish taxi and the M5 looks like a 520d
For street Cred and kudos the RS6 is always the daddy.

C8 isn’t exactly a looker though is it!
Audi’s styling has gone to pot.

M5 is the most underwhelming looking performance M car ever...passed a few More so in dark colours and thought MEH!!
Performance wise they are rapid of course.
RS6 looks great in flesh IMO although why Audi offer so. Many dark colours I don’t know?

Have just done London to Cornwall and back with 2 kids, wife and a week full of luggage in the boot and echo your experience. Cruising down the motorway it’s very comfortable and refined - the miles slipped by.mgoliveruk wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 9:53 am...my first experience with an RS6 after 6 years of S4s.. Get on some Cornish A and B roads and it feels fantastic- very agile and nimble. You forget how big it is - it feels more like my old RS4 than a 6.
Very impressed with it - I’ve had two RS4s and this is a serious step up across the board.
Also had 3 or 4 people coming up to me in various car parks to chat about it. It gets some proper kudos and respect from punters on the street.
I live centrally and can’t justify two motors - so it had to be a wagon for the family and have some poke when you get the opportunity- this fits the bill perfectly. I’d didn’t like the Merc and the M5 isn’t estate so an easy choice in one sense.
Re: Car Wow - Audi RS6 v BMW M5 v AMG E63 v Porsche Panamera - DRAG RACE
I went from an RS6 to the M5 to tide me over until the C8 launch. The M5 is defo a sleeper! I'm not sure about you lads but with an RS6 I just had a lot of <beep> on petrol forcourts asking to rev it etc!
My 2 cents is that if you live in a town then the difference in speed between the two is nothing.
I live out in the sticks and M5 is an animal on the back roads. I'm probs going to have to pull the trigger soon as I need an estate and I agree with the above the C8 is the best looking estate by an absolute country mile. Hopefully with it tuned it won't feel too much slower than the M5

I could not justify £40k’ish to move form 2019 M5 to a 2020 RS6, as smart as they look. I like my M5 sleeper. Must be getting old. M5 has an amazing engine, handles great and ticks every box for me. I like the design of the RS6 (fresh and new) but not worth extra for me.MikeFish wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 8:59 pmIf I was looking to change cars now it'd be a no brainer; you can get a 2019 M5 Comp with 1500 miles for £65k. Compare that to at least £100k for a half decent spec RS6. No thanks. M5 Comp now then maybe an RS6 Performance / facelift in a few years with decent discount.
Might be worth a punt in another 12 months or so?

Re: Car Wow - Audi RS6 v BMW M5 v AMG E63 v Porsche Panamera - DRAG RACE
Yes I agree. However, if my wife goes back to a smaller car and I need a car big enough to take the 4 of us and 2 weeks worth of suitcases to the airport then it would have to be the RS6. It might be fractionally slower but it is certainly the best looking of the fast big estates.Paulm wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 4:12 pmI could not justify £40k’ish to move form 2019 M5 to a 2020 RS6, as smart as they look. Not sure the airport is a problem any time soon!
