I bet there will be deals on the table quite quickly so makes sense to wait - will help justify your brakes then ! 😂

There’s already between £7-10k discounts available via Broadspeed, which would cover the cost of ceramics. I’ll be holding on for a few more months as I suspect those discounts get bigger quite quickly..

I seem to remember C7 prices starting to soften around 24 months after launch, I managed just over 15% on my PE bought in 2017 and that would be my target though with Brexit now a certainty I am wondering whether there will be any impact on prices and deals. I don't say that to be contentious, just trying to guess what will happen.

After brexit prices will go up, cos of customs costs and etc, all Uk will be expensive like USA, if you want order something you pay big taxes, it’s a big fail that U.K. decided to leave Europe

Could have been worse if labour had got it in, anybody that could have afforded such a car before wouldn’t have been able to as they would have been taxed that much more !

Certainly my thoughts too - on one hand ordering now will give a fixed price which they will have to honour - however, GBP is stronger now against the Euro which could see some re-alignments.....maybe prices go down, but we dont of course know what the import landscape will be and how much 'friction' there will be.

I'm going to park the purchase for now and see what the world looks like post Jan 30th and into the spring. I cant imagine they have hundreds of orders as I guess lots of people will be looking at the spec issues, the lack of discount and maybe staying with what they have for now. Its a big purchase for anyone (unless you are uber minted!!) !

Used market is screwed at minute too.

My 911 was in the dealers this week.

They leant me a 2k miles boxster. Spec of £68k. Up for sale for £51k. £17k lost in 6 months. I ‘only’ lost £32k after 7 years of my wife’s old one!

It’s really strange how people save on brakes, ceramic for such car must be, better save on other options like carbon diffuser or pan roof or audio system and add ceramics
But isn’t the initial bite in cold/wet worse than standard brakes thus making it more dangerous in the unexpected emergency stop

And has anybody actually been crazy/dangerous enough to get brake fade on the public road

I did when I was 17 in my first car but never since !
I've not had brake fade in years, last car it happened to me on was the day I bought my Fiat Coupe and was taking all my mates round block one at a time. After a few laps they started fading. Never had an issue with braking in my RS6 though (with steels). I specced ceramics on my current car though as the steels were woeful and I agree, cold is not so bad but they are awful in the wet.

I'm doing around 25K per year - sometimes slightly more, so I reckon i'll get through several sets of standard brakes in that time, so the maths probably works out for me. Not that I have actually ordered yet....cant quite get the combination I want and with zero discount on offer i'm thinking of waiting till later next year now. Unimpressed with Audi UK and their response to the config queries.
I'm not sure how you can justify they are cheaper unless you only keep the car for 3 years and hope they last that long. If doing slightly more than 25k per year, even after 3 years they could need changing and even if they don't it will affect resale price massively I'd imagine. Who in their right mind would buy a ceramic equipped car that is just about to need a set of ceramics and pads all around without a huge discount?

Ordered mine through an online broker on Thursday, paid my deposit direct to the not so local but very efficient, friendly and courteous Audi Main Dealer yesterday and they confirmed my factory order number this morning and that free, covered transporter delivery or collection (my choice) will be March. Having decided to replace my C7, it wasn't an easy call and I feel a little sad to change it really, kind of hard to justify in a way. I visited two dealers last Saturday, Farnborough who are my nearest home / service dealer and unsurprisingly they were absolutely useless, half a dozen suits ambling about in their lovely new office inside their lovely new steel and glass temple and not a soul wants to venture out and help. Given the millions they must have spent on the new state of the art building, I am surprised that someone from Lookers hasn't done a mystery shopper on them and fired everyone. I next went to Guildford and they have clearly been to the same Audi customer service training camp.

I think it’s a advantage that car has ceramics rather to be disadvantage when selling car.

Not if you are buying one that will need them replacing shortly - that is not a good deal. Ticking bombs

Ceramics are for life you no need to charge them, only pads

How on earth did you work that out!?!!

Friend is about to replace his on his Performante and you can imagine the cost of that.

Dust caps were £400!

Ceramics are not for life! And are very expensive when they need replacing hence my comment about low second hand prices once the car gets to around 70k miles.
